To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Hannah Montana,” ’70s superstar Donny Osmond just dropped an Instagram throwback fans didn’t see coming.
The entertainer posted a reminder that he guest-starred in a memorable episode of the Disney Channel series during Season 2. Fans quickly flooded the comments section of his post with nostalgic reactions.
Donny Osmond Co-Starred Alongside a TV Legend in ‘Hannah Montana’ Throwback
The Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana” is being celebrated for its impact on a generation of viewers. The beloved comedy hosted a plethora of guest stars, and Osmond was one of them.
The entertainer posted a slideshow of three photos from his episode, titled “We’re All on This Date Together.” Additionally, the episode co-starred “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Ray Romano and “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu.
The episode centered on a celebrity auction for the fictional “Stars Saving Oceans.” Romano and Hannah Montana were two celebrities being bid on for charity.
While Romano only generated an $11 bid, Hannah’s reached into the thousands. The top bidders were her middle school crush, played by Bleu, and the character of Rico (Moisés Arias). Osmond played the auctioneer.
Osmond captioned the series of photos, “I can’t believe it’s the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana! As a little tribute, here’s a fun throwback to the time I guest-starred on the show with Ray Romano and Corbin Bleu. Those were some great memories.”
Fans agreed. They shared their remarks about Osmond’s throwback pics in the comments section.
“My daughter loved this. Oh, I feel old,” wrote one of Osmond’s followers.
A second penned, “My childhood idol with my daughter’s childhood idol!” A third fan added, “20 years already! Time flies when you’re having fun, right? Remember when my son was obsessed with ‘Hannah Montana’ and Hilary Duff. You killed it on that episode, Donny – looked like you had a blast!”
A fourth fan concluded, “This was a fun episode to see. I was thrilled when you were on ‘Hannah Montana!'”
Donny Osmond Was a Frequent Disney Guest Star
Donny Osmond was cast in Disney film and television projects throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The entertainer continued to show his versatility with each project.
Along with a guest-starring role on “Hannah Montana,” Osmond starred as the voice of Li Shang in the animated film “Mulan.” He also played the role of Gaston in the Broadway production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
In 2008, Osmond played the role of Doug in the Raven-Symone-led comedy, “College Road Trip.” But before all that, his career began at the House of Mouse in 1961 after he and his brothers, the Osmond’s, sang alongside Disneyland’s The Dapper Dans barbershop quartet and signed their first professional contract.
Donny Osmond has a longstanding Las Vegas residency where he features some of his Disney-adjacent roles through music at Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s Las Vegas.
