Sharna Burgess is spilling the tea about her former romance with her ex-DWTS castmate Sasha Farber.
In a new segment on the latest installment of the podcast “The Penthouse With Peta,” the former mirrorball-winning pro revealed all about her years-ago romance with Farber. The relationship occurred before they competed against one another as pros on the ABC reality competition series.

Sharna Burgess is a regular guest on “The Penthouse With Peta,” hosted by another DWTS mirrorball-winning former pro, Peta Murgatroyd. Each week, the two women discuss a myriad of topics and engage their audience to weigh in on everything from relationships and parenting to behind-the-scenes memories from their reality television days.
In the podcast’s latest installment, Burgess and Murgatroyd shared relationship and breakup secrets. It was during this segment that news of Burgess and Farber’s romance came to light, a “showmance” that occurred when both starred in “Burn the Floor.”
She said of Farber, “He was such a sweet boyfriend. He’s such a great guy. I talk about how I’ve dated so many [expletive], he was not one of them. He was always a great guy, and he came into my life at a time when I just really needed to remember how to laugh again.”
Getty“We got together when we were in Reno,” she revealed. “[The whole cast] were drinking, like, liters and liters of vodka a night. … It’s a blur, and what I do remember, we shan’t talk about. But, Sasha’s room [and mine] were next door to each other. One night, my bold little self knocked on his door and was like, ‘Hi.’”
“Then, we got together. I think we were together for three years [or] five years, I don’t remember. However long I was on ‘Burn the Floor,’ we were together.”
The couple eventually broke up after Burgess returned to her native Australia while Farber remained with the tour. Less than one year later, they were cast on DWTS.

In 2016, Farber proposed to Slater during the DWTS live show. They wed in 2018.
In August 2022, after four years of marriage, the couple ended their relationship. Slater has been dating her fellow DWTS pro Alan Bersten since 2024. Sasha Farber went Instagram official with actress Janel Parrish in April 2026.
