Complete List of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Champions From Season 1 to Season 34

Robert Irwin and Witney Carson were fan favorites on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 since the beginning of their journey, and fans were thrilled when they won the Mirrorball Trophy after the finale on Tuesday, November 25. However, 33 celebrities and their professional dance partners have stood where they stood before! This is the complete list of all of the Mirrorball champions from Season 1 to Season 34!

Back to the Beginning 

“Dancing with the Stars” has celebrated its 20th anniversary, but fans who tuned into Season 1, which premiered on June 1, 2005, will remember that it looked a little different from how it does now. The show did not have the fan following (yet) or the budget. Still, the ABC dance competition became an instant success, in part because of the early pros and their celebrity competitors.

Season 1: Kelly Monaco & Alec Mazo

The Mirrorball trophy in Season 1 went to actress and model Kelly Monaco and her professional dance partner, Alec Mazo. His last full season was in Season 9. 

Season 2: Drew Lachey & Cheryl Burke

Cheryl Burke returned to Season 34 as a guest judge on the show, and fans loved to see her. She joined “Dancing with the Stars” in Season 2 and won her debut alongside Drew Lachey. 

Season 3: Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke

Season 4: Apolo Ohno & Julianne Hough

Another impressive year for Julianne Hough was Season 5. She won again with race car driver Hélio Castroneves.

Season 7: Brooke Burke & Derek Hough

Derek Hough joined “Dancing with the Stars” in Season 5. In Season 7, he won his first Mirrorball Trophy alongside Brooke Burke.

Season 11: Jennifer Grey & Derek Hough

Hough was on top again in Season 11, this time with actress Jennifer Grey. 

Season 12: Hines Ward & Kym Johnson

Kym Johnson won her second Mirrorball trophy alongside NFL star Hines Ward. 

Season 13: J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff

It took 10 seasons for Karina Smirnoff to secure her first Mirrorball trophy, but her victory alongside actor and motivational speaker J.R. Martinez was a reason to celebrate. 

Season 14: Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd

Peta Murgatroyd joined DWTS in Season 13 and won her first Mirrorball Trophy a year later with Donald Driver. 

Season 15: Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani

Season 16: Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough

Derek Hough claimed his third Mirrorball in Season 16 with singer and actress Kellie Pickler. 

Season 17: Amber Riley & Derek Hough

Derek Hough won again in Season 17 with actress and singer Amber Riley. 

Season 18: Meryl Davis & Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Maksim Chmerkovskiy joined DWTS in Season 2 in 2006. He won his first Mirrorball trophy with Meryl Davis in Season 18. 

Season 19: Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson

Season 20: Rumer Willis & Val Chmerkovskiy

Season 20 was Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy’s year to shine! Chmerkovskiy joined the show as a pro in Season 13. 

Season 21: Bindi Irwin & Derek Hough

Perhaps one of the fan favorite wins was when wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin competed on Season 21. She won the Mirrorball Trophy alongside Derek Hough. This was his sixth win. 

Season 22: Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd

Peta Murgatroyd scored her second Mirrorball trophy alongside actor and model Nyle DiMarco. 

Season 23: Laurie Hernandez & Val Chmerkovskiy

Season 27: Bobby Bones & Sharna Burgess

Season 27 was arguably the most controversial win in DWTS history, but the Mirroball Trophy went to Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess. Burgess became a professional in Season 16. 

Season 28: Hannah Brown & Alan Bersten

Alan Bersten joined DWTS as a professional dancer in Season 25 in 2017, and he won the Mirrorball Trophy alongside celebrity contestant Hannah Brown. 

Season 29: Kaitlyn Bristowe & Artem Chigvintsev

Season 29 was “The Bachelorette” star Kaitlyn Bristowe’s time to shine alongside professional dancer  Artem Chigvintsev. Chigvintsev joined the show as a pro partner in Season 19. 

Season 30: Iman Shumpert & Daniella Karagach
