“Dancing with the Stars” has celebrated its 20th anniversary, but fans who tuned into Season 1, which premiered on June 1, 2005, will remember that it looked a little different from how it does now. The show did not have the fan following (yet) or the budget. Still, the ABC dance competition became an instant success, in part because of the early pros and their celebrity competitors.
Season 1: Kelly Monaco & Alec Mazo
