Witney Carson & Robert Irwin Have Playful Squabble Backstage in Recent Video

Witney Carson and Robert Irwin are back together, and yep, they are still giving fans plenty of reasons to smile.

The “Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 champions reunited for “Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro,” with Irwin serving as host and Carson joining the show as a guest judge. Now, a new behind-the-scenes video is showing off the playful relationship the two have developed since becoming partners.

Shared to Instagram on Monday, August 17, 2026 by the official “Dancing with the Stars” account, the video shows Carson and Irwin getting ready to head onstage. The only problem? Carson is apparently tired of waiting for Irwin to finish getting ready. It was even captioned: “The siblings are fighting 😉,” alongside the hashtag #DWTSNextPro.

Honestly, this might be one of the most relatable sibling-like interactions fans have seen from the pair.

Witney Carson & Robert Irwin Bicker Backstage

The video starts with Carson waiting for Irwin to come out of his dressing room, and she is clearly ready for him to hurry up.

I’m always waiting on Robert, and that is… that’s a red flag, Robert!

Irwin pops his head out of his dressing room to defend himself, explaining that getting ready for the show takes some time.

Do you think this just happens? No! It takes hours of work.

Carson is not having it, though, and playfully tells him:

“Get your butt out here. Right now.

Irwin isn’t exactly rushing.

I’m going to take as long as I need to take, thank you very much.

Yep, Carson definitely seems to have some big-sister energy here. She then turns to the camera and says:

I’m sorry you had to see that. Siblings fighting, it’s scary.

Eventually, Irwin makes his way out, and the two notice that they are dressed in completely contrasting outfits, with Carson wearing black and Irwin wearing white. They head toward the stage together while continuing their playful bickering.

Fans Loved the Playful ‘Sibling’ Dynamic

And fans were absolutely loving it.

“Ohhh my gosh! I completely understand why Witney was a little bit annoyed by Robert taking so long towards getting ready for something. My brother Kai he’s the same age as Robert and he takes so long to get ready for something.”

Another fan simply wrote, “Big sister energy 😂,” while someone else commented, “You leave that diva alone 😂😂😂”

“Robert’s American accent is somthing I never knew I needed! 🤣” another fan added.

Other comments included, “Go away. Yup, definitely sibling relationship right here 🤣,” “You look beautiful Witney…..ok….you too Robert!😂😂 This was adorable,” and “Bahahahaha this made me literally LoL.”

One fan summed it up perfectly, writing, “love that they have this relationship 😂”

Carson and Irwin clearly know how to have fun with each other, and that friendship has become one of the most enjoyable parts of seeing them reunite outside of the ballroom.

The playful video comes after Carson and Irwin already made quite an impression together on “Dancing with the Stars.” As noted above, the pair competed together during Season 34, with Irwin as the celebrity contestant and Carson as his pro-partner. And, they ultimately won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Now, they are working together again on “Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro.” Irwin is hosting the spinoff, which follows 12 up-and-coming dancers competing for a professional spot on Season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Carson appeared in Episode 6, titled “But Can You Teach? Coaching Superfans with Witney Carson” on Monday, August 17. An ABC press release from before the episode aired noted that Carson joined to coach the dancers as they worked with ballroom novices.

She is also set to appear in Episode 7 on August 24, before the eight-episode season concludes with Episode 8 on August 31. IMDb also lists Carson as joining Irwin as a co-host for the finale.

So, it seems like fans are going to get plenty more of this Carson-Irwin friendship before the summer spinoff wraps up.

Let’s be real, watching the two argue over getting ready may not be the biggest moment in the “Dancing with the Stars” universe, but it is exactly the kind of lighthearted behind-the-scenes content that makes fans enjoy seeing their friendship continue.

Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro” airs Mondays at 8:00pm ET on ABC, streaming next day on Hulu/Disney+.

And, don’t forget, Season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars” is set to premiere next month. On Tuesday, September 15, 2026ABC is giving fans another reason to keep the ballroom excitement going.
