Amanda Bynes is returning to the public eye, but she isn’t reentering the entertainment industry; instead, she’s launched a fashion line and is promoting her bag drops on social media. The latest promotion came on August 19, when the “She’s the Man” actress shared a short video of herself holding one of her bags.
Amanda Bynes’ Fans Are Rooting For Her
The clip shows Bynes walking while wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, white socks and sneakers, and a matching sheer cover-up. Her hair is up and dyed platinum blonde, and her dark, signature eyebrows are clearly visible. She’s holding the Ca$h Bby Bag, a black-and-green design with fire motifs, draped over her forearm. In the caption, she shared her thoughts, writing, “Buy ur ca$h bby bag newyorkspeed.co.”
Fans have been incredibly supportive of Bynes and her new venture, flooding the post’s comment section with messages. “Iconic,” a fan shared. “Wishing you peace, strength, and joy every day. It would be a dream to meet you one day and just say thank you for all the laughter you gave us,” part of a fan’s lengthy, supportive message reads. “Rooting for you, always.”
Other reactions include, “So ready for your rebirth era!!,” “We are all rooting for you,” and “Rooting for you Amanda.”
Some comments also celebrate Bynes after the sudden and tragic passing of another former child star, Hayden Panettiere. Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16, at age 36. Bynes is 40 years old. “At least we still have our Manda. Please don’t leave us too. You might not realize it but, we’re all still those kids,” a fan shared.
On Monday, August 17, Bynes reacted to the “Nashville” actress’s passing on LinkedIn. “Life can hit you hard, and fast,” she wrote, Us Weekly reports. “What a horrible situation.”
Amanda Bynes Embraces the Fashion Industry
New York $peed is Bynes’ new fashion line. Her website reveals the bag she is holding retails for $218 and is one of two bags featured on the site. The other bag is the Latexxx Bag, which also retails for $218. It is a brown bag with a chain strap.
Bynes’ decision to venture into the fashion industry does not surprise fans, and she has long expressed her desire to work in fashion. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in 2019, and collaborated with fashion designer Austin Babbitt in 2024.
In a 2024 interview with People, Bynes discussed the collaboration, revealing they worked on a T-shirt design and another for a pair of shorts. She also said they were “working on doing a pop-up art show in December,” and that it “will have art and clothing.”
In a 2013 interview with In Touch Weekly, Bynes gave insight into the inspiration for her future clothing line. “My line will be a mixture of sick styles, and it’s going to be for everybody,” she said, E! News reports. “I love Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s clothing line, Elizabeth and James, and I love how Justin Bieber dresses. I’ll design clothes because I want to, not because I need the money.”
