When Will ‘Hope Valley: 1874’ Premiere & Where Can I Watch It?

Hallmark fanatics are in for a treat with the upcoming release of “Hope Valley: 1874.” The series will be a prequel to the ever-so-popular “When Calls the Heart” and will feature origin stories of characters living in the quaint coal-mining town of Hope Valley. 

Fortunately, Hearties won’t have to wait too long for the show’s release date, as it is slated for a March 2026 premiere. 


Where to Watch ‘Hope Valley: 1874’

Hope Valley: 1874” will not be available on the Hallmark Channel via regular cable. It will exclusively air on Hallmark+, a subscription-based platform.

Viewers can access the Hallmark+ app through the Hallmark Channel website or directly from the App Store. Fans can also add the Hallmark+ channel to their Amazon Prime Video subscription for an additional fee. Once subscribed, viewers can watch the prequel as well as other Hallmark content through their Prime Video account.

Those who have not yet subscribed to Hallmark+ may be eligible for a free trial.


What Is ‘Hope Valley: 1874’ About?

The show will follow several main characters as they navigate their way through the Canadian frontier in the pioneer era. Key roles include Bethany Joy Lenz as Rebecca Clarke, Benjamin Ayres as Tom Moore and Jill Hennessy as Hattie Quinn.

Roan Curtis will also star in the upcoming series as Hattie’s daughter, Olivia. Lachlan Quarmby will be included as Constable Alexander Vaughn.

The premise will follow Rebecca and her daughter as they venture from Chicago to Hope Valley. When their wagon breaks down, they will be tested to trust those around them, like eligible bachelor and rancher Tom.

Against her intentions to remain focused on her life with her daughter, Rebecca ultimately decides to catch her footing in the small town of Hope Valley.

The first season will feature eight episodes


‘Hope Valley: 1874’ Actors Tease Show’s Storyline 

In an announcement made by actors Ayres and Lenz, the duo expressed their excitement as they welcomed fans to the upcoming prequel by teasing what to expect.

“We can’t wait to take all you Hearties on an incredible journey to the early days of this beloved community,” Ayres shared, followed by Lenz saying that there are “lots of new characters and story lines you won’t want to miss.”

While fans wait for the premiere of “Hope Valley: 1874,” they can catch up on everything related to its predecessor, “When Calls the Heart,” airing Sundays on the Hallmark Channel at 8/7c. The first 12 seasons are available to stream on Hallmark+.

  1. I am a huge Hallmark fan, but will have to miss this show because I cannot afford another channel! Too bad that it is all about the money.
