The former couple shares two daughters.
Haylie Duff Calls Off Engagement
Duff and Rosenberg split more than a decade after he proposed, according to People.
A rep for “Napoleon Dynamite” actress told the outlet that the former couple “ended their relationship around the first of the year.”
“She asks for privacy at this time in protection of her young daughters,” the representative requested.
Duff and Rosenberg got engaged on April Fools’ Day in 2014, she announced via her food blog, “The Real Girl’s Kitchen,” at the time, per Time.
“Matt just took me by total surprise and proposed,” she shared.
Duff’s sister, “Lizzie McGuire” star Hilary Duff tweeted her excitement.
“So happy to not have to keep this news in!! My beautiful sister @HaylieDuff
and her amazing boyfriend @Matt_STS are engaged!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” she wrote.
While the pair never made it down the aisle, they welcomed two daughters together during their engagement. Daughter Ryan Ava Erhard Rosenberg was born in May 2015, followed by sister Lulu Gray Rosenberg in June 2018.
Duff previously opened up about the pair’s decision to put a pin in wedding plans, telling People in 2018, “We talk about it and think, ‘Maybe now we’re ready to do it’ and then life happens and toddler happens.”
“We feel married already and it hasn’t become something that both of us are gung-ho about,” she added. “Maybe after the craziness of a new baby dies down we’ll be ready to talk about it again.”
Haylie Duff Relocated to Texas
Prior to their split, Duff and Rosenberg relocated their family from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas.
She opened up about the decision in a 2022 interview with Fox News Digital.
“Well, you know, I grew up in Texas,” Duff shared. “Texas is my home state. And so, I always imagined that I would come back to Texas and raise our family here and things like that.”
She added, “And we imagined it probably more as our girls were going into middle school or that age. But when the pandemic happened, we just kind of looked at each other, and we were like, ‘Should we? Should we get a little more space and a little fresh air?”
The Hallmark actress expressed her concern that her career would be affected by the move, but added, “I think this has all taught us that Zoom certainly can be a very powerful tool.”
