Jonathan Bennett Lights Up the Stage in Latest Hosting Gig

Jonathan Bennett was the host with the most during the 37th annual GLAAD Media Awards. The Hallmark star went into this hosting gig with a couple of nominations, as well, and it looked like he had a blast.

The GLAAD Media Awards event took place on March 5 in Los Angeles, California. However, the event was pre-recorded, and will stream on Hulu on March 21, according to Deadline.


Jonathan Bennett’s Comedic Side Was on Full Display Throughout the GLAAD Awards

Naturally, the “Heated Rivalry” jokes were numerous throughout the evening, given the popular of the show and its relevancy to the crowd gathered at the event.

Bennett had a lot of fun leaning into the “Heated Rivalry” conversation. In fact, Bennett started out the show with a fun bit involving a couple of the HBO Max show’s stars who attended, François Arnaud and Robbie Graham-Kuntz.

The iconic Liza Minnelli made a surprise appearance at the end of the GLAAD Awards event, and Bennett was on stage welcoming her.

As Variety noted, Minnelli’s appearance was to honor her upcoming 80th birthday, which is on March 12. Her appearance was to also honor the upcoming release of her new memoir, “Kids, Wait Till You Hear This!” The book’s release date is March 10.

Other fun bits throughout Bennett’s night of hosting featured him dressed in a boot camp ensemble, appearing in drag, and going all-in on a hockey player costume. His hockey jersey even had the GLAAD logo on it.


Hallmark Didn’t Win in Their GLAAD Award Categories in 2026

Hallmark received three GLAAD nominations for the 2026 event. In the category for Outstanding Film — Streaming or TV, both “The Christmas Baby” and Bennett’s “A Keller Christmas Vacation” were nominated. In addition, in the category of Outstanding Reality Competition Program, “Finding Mr. Christmas” received a nomination.

According to the list of winners shared by Deadline, Hallmark and Bennett went home empty-handed this year. The Netflix movie “Queen of Coal” won the streaming movie category, and “The Traitors” won the reality competition category.

Jaymes Vaughan, Bennett’s husband, attended the GLAAD Awards to support his husband. Ahead of the event, he shared a gorgeous photo of the two via his Instagram page.

Vaughan wrote, “Couldn’t be prouder to be on the arm of the host of tonight’s handsome @GLAAD Awards Show Host. Can’t wait to see you shine tonight baby @jonathandbennett Break all the legs!”

Fans loved the tidbits that Bennett and GLAAD shared online during the awards. Bennett’s visit to the “Heated Rivalry” table to talk about the “smoothie shop” was a hit, as were all of his other comedic bits.

“LOVEEEE THISSSSS” one person commented on Instagram.

Someone else declared, “Jonathan is all of us. SKIP forever,” referring to the nickname fans have given to the pairing of Arnaud and Graham-Kuntz’s characters, Scott and Kip.
