Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott are celebrating surpassing 100,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel, and to mark the accomplishment, they went live answering fans’ questions.
The HGTV stars put up a post on Instagram writing, “Save The Date: Join us for a LIVE AMA Friday September 12th @ 11am PT on our @drewandjonathan YouTube Channel! Drop by to ask us ANYTHING or just say hi👋 We’ll be talking all things Halloween–think costumes, decor, and party ideas to get excited for Spooky Season! 👻”
But the bros didn’t stick to just Halloween topics in the 20 minute live AMA, instead letting fans throw out questions on just about any topic.
Jonathan and Drew Reveal Surprising Tidbits In AMA Live
While Jonathan and Drew Scott did spend some time talking about their love of Halloween, they also fielded questions on a broad range of subjects.
When a viewer named Jack asked, “Have you ever done home design for nudists?,” after laughing and cracking a few jokes, Jonathan revealed, “We produce a lot of shows that we’re not in. Shows of other genres. We shoot some of the ‘House Hunters’ series. And one of the episodes of ‘House Hunters,’ it was for nudists.”
“We had to do a lot of blurring,” Jonathan added.
“Yeah, a lot of blurring,” Drew added. “That’s funny the fact that the real estate agent and home owners were all naked at the houses… I don’t know if I’m comfortable,” he laughed.
“We did not appear in that episode,” Jonathan joked. “But I had to watch the dailies,” Drew chimed in.
Brothers Talk Halloween Costumes
When a viewer asks if they know what costumes they’ll be wearing this year for Halloween, Jonathan says, “Are you kidding? I start planning my Halloween costume a year in advance!”
But Drew admits, “Actually, I don’t know yet.” He points at the camera and tells viewers, “I want you to give me some ideas. Because Piper is one-year-old and she has these little pigtails and she’s running around. She looks like ‘Boo’ from ‘Monsters, Inc.’ So we always do themes, so I think that’s one we might do, but what other ideas for a theme for a 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and then the parents?”
Jonathan Scott asks the room if he should reveal his Halloween costume and everyone, including brother Drew, says “tell them.”
“Alright, I’m the Wizard from ‘Wicked'” he revealed.
“So I have the full outfit being made. I even have cool things with the cloak and the mask, a cane that illuminates,” he says.
“Are you doing a family theme?” Drew asks. “No, just me,” says Jonathan. “The kids always want three costumes. They’ve got one for their school parade, one for Halloween evening when they go trick-or-treating, and one for our Halloween party.”
