Congratulations to P!NK and Mariah Carey, as well as Shakira, and many more! They are some of the names that were mentioned when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced the 2026 nominees, which is a “hefty list” including 17 potential inductees, according to Billboard.
The list was revealed on Wednesday, February 25, and includes:

- Jeff Buckley
- Mariah Carey
- Phil Collins
- Melissa Etheridge
- Lauryn Hill
- Billy Idol
- INXS
- Iron Maiden
- Joy Division/New Order
- New Edition
- Oasis
- P!NK
- Sade
- Shakira
- Luther Vandross
- Wu-Tang Clan
Those chosen to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be announced in April, at the same time the Musical Influence Award, Musical Excellence Award and the Ahmet Ertegun Non Performer Award recipients will be revealed. The 2026 induction ceremony will take place sometime in the fall.

“This diverse list of talented nominees recognizes the ever-evolving faces and sounds of Rock & Roll and its continued impact on youth culture”, said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, in a press release via Billboard.
He continued, “Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor and we look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 this Fall.”
How Are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Chosen?

They come together to create a ballot of eligible Nominees for the year.”
“To be eligible for Induction as an artist (performer, composer or musician) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have had their first commercial release at least 25 years prior to the year of Induction and have demonstrated musical excellence, impact, and influence,” according to the website.
When it comes to voting, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame explains, “[i]nductees are chosen by an international voting body of more than 1,200 Inductees, historians and members of the music industry, as well as the aggregate results of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s annual online Fan Vote, which counts as one ballot.”
Once the votes are tallied, the big announcement is made. Following that, “[t]he process culminates as Music’s Highest Honor is celebrated at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The event features Inductees and special guest performances, tributes, and speeches which commemorate this lifetime achievement.”
