Britney Spears‘ son Sean Preston, the older of her two boys, has taken a major stand on social media that seems to show support for his famous mom. Around the beginning of April 2026, Sean Preston updated the username of his Instagram account, which is set to private, choosing to call himself “@seanpspears.” His name formerly contained his legal last name, Federline.
People, who was among the first outlets to report on the update, said there’s no indication he’s changed his name legally. As of Friday, April 3, he’d made another change, switching the handle to simply say “@seanprestonn.”
A Previous Report Said Britney’s Boys Have Moved Back to California
In early March, Page Six reported they learned from a source that Sean Preston and his 19-year-old brother Jayden, who lived in Hawaii for a few years beginning in the summer of 2023, have relocated to California where the source says they live โclose by.โ The news came amid a year the source said has been filled with events that made the pop iconโs healing journey โmuch, much harderโ as she fights to reclaim her life after a strict 13-year conservatorship in which she says she was mentally altered by the high amounts of lithium she was required to take around 2018 to 2019 amid her brave battle to break free of the controversial arrangement.
The outlet said Britneyโs manager Cade Hudson told them, โHer boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
Britney Spears’ 1st Husband Recently Defended Her from ‘Media Circus’ in Emotional Statement
Britney ex-husband Jason Alexander, who famously crashed her 2022 wedding to model Sam Asghari, defended her from the media frenzy that ensued following her recent driving troubles.
Britney married Alexander during a 2004 trip to Las Vegas, but it was quickly annulled two days later.
Around March 6, the Kentwood, Louisiana native said in a powerful and compassionate Instagram statement:
“Everyone needs to slow down with the headlines about Britney Spears.
If reports are accurate that she blew a .06, thatโs below the legal limit in most states. And if the only substances in her system were legally prescribed medications, that changes the narrative completely.
At most, whatโs being discussed right now could potentially amount to minor misdemeanor charges โ things like reckless driving or simple possession if a substance was found in the car. But the internet has already jumped straight to โdrunk driving,โ โrehab,โ and all kinds of speculation that hasnโt been proven.
This is exactly how media narratives spiral out of control. Rumors spread faster than facts, and suddenly someone is being judged before the truth is even clear.
Britney Spears deserves the same thing anyone else does: facts, fairness, and due process โ not headlines built on speculation.
Let the facts come out before turning someoneโs life into another media circus.โ
