Chris Martin’s lookalike son, Moses Martin, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, is following in his father’s footsteps and pursuing a career in the music industry. Moses, who is 20, played his first gig in London on Wednesday, August 26, People reports. The publication notes that the city is also where Chris’ band Coldplay first started, playing as Starfish in Camden in 1998.
Moses Martin’s Rising Music Career
Moses plays in the rock group People I’ve Met, along with Orlando Wiltshire and Andrew Suster, whom he met at school in California. In an interview with Rolling Stone, published on August 24, Moses discussed his desire to pursue a career in the music industry; he also spoke about the position he was in because of his famous parents. “It’s definitely something to be reckoned with. I think the ultimate thing is that I’m very grateful to be in the position I’m in and I have a musical DNA through my parents,” he said. “My parents are incredible, and I’m very grateful to be in the position I’m in.”
He continued, “But what I’m trying to say is that yes, we acknowledge it and we’re grateful for it, but we’re doing something that is special and unique to us, and that we really care about. And so ultimately, whatever gets people to listen to the music really, like wherever they come from, we welcome any fan. We really just love it, and I particularly am grateful also to have parents who are supportive of this because they know what it’s like.”
Rolling Stone referred to the group as “rising U.S. rockers,” and Moses spoke about the future, saying, “We’ve found a confidence in ourselves and the trust we’ve found in our own tastes and knowing what feels right and that’s something that kind of takes a while to accumulate.”
Moses Martin Values His Parents’ Opinions
Moses was also asked if he used Chris as a “sounding board” for his music, to which he replied, “Yeah I really trust his opinion. But it’s the same with my Mum too, she has great taste.” Paltrow has been incredibly supportive of her son’s career, even sharing a video on Instagram in December 2025, with their song, “Promise,” playing.
In the comment section, fans and celebrity friends showed their support. Reese Witherspoon wrote, “Love this song, Moses!!”

Moses is the youngest child of the former couple, who also have a daughter, Apple, born two years before him in 2004. Moses lived much of his life in private, away from the public eye, as much as possible. He attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, which Paltrow announced in an Instagram post in 2024. However, he is now embracing the spotlight and has shown an interest in modeling, making his debut in July for the British brand Burberry. He starred in their campaign titled “Escape to the Countryside.”
Fans expect to see much more of Moses in the future, but he made his red carpet debut with his mother for the film “Marty Supreme” in December 2025, USA Today reports.
