Before the event on April 11, Metz shared her excitement about supporting her friend. She posted a photo on Instagram promoting his memoir, “What Mattered Most,” and revealed they would be having a conversation about it.

In the caption, she shared her thoughts. “I have always been a fan of Ty’s beautiful voice and storytelling. After becoming friends, I am an even bigger fan of his beautiful heart,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to share in conversation about his brand-new, very special memoir and even do a little singing with this Saturday together.”

Fans left supportive messages in the post’s comment section. “I love this! I’ve been a fan of Ty’s since back in the 90’s, saw/met him when he performed here maybe 20 years ago. I still turn the volume up when his songs come on!” a comment reads. “I had the pleasure of meeting @tyherndonofficial last night at our restaurant… such a beautiful soul! How exciting for you to be with him this weekend,” another person shared.

Chrissy Metz Reveals Weight Loss Transformation

Metz has been open about her weight loss transformation and her journey to better health. She has lost approximately 100 pounds, and she places importance on being strong. “I have always enjoyed strength training. I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights … I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased,” she told the Daily Mail in April 2025. “I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong. And that’s really the impetus behind any of it.”

She also revealed how she had an unhealthy relationship with food. “It was my crutch, the love to fill in the holes,” she told People in August 2025. “Food was my thing.”

The publication notes that Metz began focusing on her health after a scare at 30. She made significant changes. “I was so gung ho, I lost 100 lbs. in less than five months,” she said. “All I did was eat a 2,000-calorie diet and walk 20 minutes a day.” She is now 45.
