Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy is speaking out after being involved in a frightening car accident. The 26-year-old influencer shared dramatic footage on Instagram showing the moments before and after the crash. In the first clip, she climbed into a blue Lamborghini Urus, writing, “How it started.” The video then cut to the wrecked vehicle on the roadside, with Cassidy adding, “How it ended.”
She explained that her friend had been behind the wheel of her boyfriend’s £200,000 luxury SUV. While Cassidy didn’t confirm whether she was injured, the car’s side was visibly crushed. “Lesson learned — don’t let your girlfriend drive your brand new car,” she joked in the caption.
Fans React With Concern & Support
Fans quickly filled the comments with relief and encouragement. “So glad you’re safe,” one wrote, while another added, “I’m so glad no one got hurt. Love you guys so much.”

T Steezy, the car’s owner, later addressed the accident on his own Instagram.
“My girl crashed my $240,000 Urus Today — am I mad about it? Absolutely. Am I gonna fret about it? No, because I’m just happy everybody is ok,” he wrote. “They got hit by a bus. I don’t think they’re at fault.”
A Difficult Year for Kate Cassidy
The crash came shortly after Cassidy marked one year since Payne’s tragic death. The former One Direction singer died at 31 after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In a heartfelt post shared on the anniversary, Cassidy uploaded several photos with Payne and wrote, “Today marks a full year without you here. I will forever hate goodbyes. I miss you, Liam.”
In a candid moment, the 26-year-old also opened up about her journey through grief and recovery during an interview with Page Six on Saturday, October 11. Cassidy described the months following the One Direction star’s death as the most challenging period of her life.
“I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain,” she shared while attending a benefit performance of This Is Crazy! in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). “I was just not wanting to really live my life.”
Cassidy said it took about two months before she began finding her footing again. “I finally realized, ‘OK, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed,’” she recalled. She began rebuilding her routine with small, healthy steps that helped restore her balance.
“I like to always be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner,” she added. “For me, being active always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.”
Family & Fans Continue to Honor Payne’s Legacy
Liam’s sister, Ruth Payne, also shared a moving message, reminding fans of the family’s pain.
“Everyone only seems interested in the public side of this,” she wrote. “But people need to remember there’s a son without his dad, parents without their child, and I am lost without my brother.”
As Cassidy continues to heal from the accident, fans have praised her for staying strong and honoring Payne’s memory with love and grace.
