University of Alabama alum Jaime Causey has plenty to be grateful for these days. She recently celebrated one year since graduating from her dream school, and she’s now an academic advisor at the same university. “I was just a girl trying to figure things out,” she said in a recent TikTok video marking the occasion. “And I hoped when I shared my life that someone felt less alone. I’ve had moments where I’ve felt really alone.”
Causey began documenting her schooling during her senior year, introducing herself in a video posted on August 15, 2024. The content creator not only revealed that a major pop star paid for her final semester of schooling, but also that the same star also wished her a happy birthday.
Olivia Rodrigo Uses Her Wealth for Good
In a TikTok video posted on August 18, 2026, Jamie Causey revealed that none other than Olivia Rodrigo paid for her final semester at the University of Alabama. “I almost never told you that,” Causey said. “Not because I wasn’t grateful, but I didn’t want something that meant so much to become a public spectacle.”
“I didn’t want to leave without saying thank you,” she added, noting that she’s closing the TikTok chapter of her life. In a previous clip, she stated that she would be departing from the social media platform. Additionally, Causey had previously shared a video talking about her struggles to pay her final semester of college.
Rodrigo took notice and reached out to her over DM. “Hi girl! I know you don’t know me but | love your videos so much. you seem like the kindest coolest gal and you are such a source of positivity and light in my life,” the pop singer wrote, according to a screenshot Causey shared in the video.
Rodrigo added, “I watched ur last vid about tuition and I’d love to help out if you were at all open to that.”
Jamie Causey then shared a screenshot of an email sent from Odette Moradians, who handles many of Rodrigo’s business accounts and transactions through Parr3 LLC. “Olivia, I don’t know if you’ll ever understand how much that means to me,” Causey continued in her video. “You make me feel like I belong on this platform. You didn’t owe me anything. You just chose to show kindness to a stranger.”

The viral TikTok video currently has 1.5 million views and more than 2,100 comments. Countless Olivia Rodrigo fans gushed their support over Rodrigo’s compassion, as well as long-standing Causey fans. “The fact that Olivia did not publicize her gift makes me appreciate her generousity so much more,” wrote one fan. “That’s truly doing something from your heart.”
“I’ve never seen any of your videos. I’ve never heard an entire Olivia Rodrigo album. Today I will stream her albums and watch your videos,” chimed in another.
Then, Paris Hilton left just two words of unwavering support. “Love you!” the pop culture icon wrote with a little pink heart. TikToker Ophelia (12.1 million followers) commended Causey’s kindness, adding that “you deserve everything good in this lifetime Jamie. I am forever proud of every single thing you have done and shared your journey all the way.”
