Sharon Osbourne Remembers Dolly Parton as an ‘Angel’ in Moving Tribute After Country Music Icon’s Passing at 80

Dolly Parton’s death was announced on Tuesday, August 25, and since then, social media has been flooded with tributes for the country music icon. Parton was 80 when she died, and many will remember her fondly, including Sharon Osbourne


Sharon Osbourne Celebrates Dolly Parton 

Osbourne posted a photo of herself and Dolly, smiling for the cameras. In the caption, she shared her thoughts with a short but heartfelt message. “Dolly Parton was an angel,” she wrote. “She was sent here to bring joy, kindness and light to us all. Her work is done and she’s gone home. We will always love you @dollyparton.”

Osbourne lost her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, on July 22, 2025, and fans have remarked on how Ozzy and Parton would be together now. “Her and ozzy are together putting on an amazing show,” a comment reads. “Sharon with Dolly… knowing we lost Ozzy and now Dolly too makes this photo hit completely different. What a generation of legends we’re losing,” another fan shared. 

A third comment reads, “Another National Treasure you can never prepare to lose.” 

Other reactions include, “This one hurts. Like Elvis, John Lennon or Ozzy. Everyone is going to remember where they were the day that they heard that Queen Dolly has passed,” and “She’s singing with Ozzy now @sharonosbourne Thank you for sharing this gorgeous memory with us.”


Sharon Osbourne Reflects on Losing Ozzy Osbourne 

On the one-year anniversary of Ozzy’s death, on July 22, 2026, Sharon spoke to BBC Radio WM about her grief. “As Ozzy would say, ‘when you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang,’” she said.

Sharon also remembered her late husband and who he was. “He was authentic,” she said. “He never tried to be anything other than what he was, and he would tell you the truth about everything and that was him, you knew where you were with him, he was just genuine, so genuine and funny.”


The Passing of Beloved Icon Dolly Parton 

Parton died at age 80 from a private cancer battle. The news of her death was shared publicly by her family, with her nephew, Brian Seaver, releasing a video tribute on Tuesday, August 25. 

“My family and I have shared a lifetime of beautiful memories with Dolly, but so have you,” Seaver said in the video statement. “She has always been on your television, your record player, your CD and on your phone playlist, becoming an extended part of your family whether you liked it or not. Our family and the team she has entrusted with her legacy will work diligently to ensure her spirit will live with us forever.”

He continued, “Dolly was a farmer, just like her daddy; he farmed the soil, she farmed songs and happiness. Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton because after a life of wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest.”
