Jamie Foxx is getting ready to become a father again, but he admits there was one thing that initially made him hesitate.
The 58-year-old actor is expecting his first child with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp, 31. While Foxx is no stranger to fatherhood, starting over with a newborn at his age gave him some pause.
“Being my age, I was a little on the fence,” Foxx told E! News during a joint interview with his oldest daughter, Corinne Foxx.
However, a recent run-in with Al Pacino helped put things into perspective. Pacino welcomed his youngest son, Roman, in 2023.
“But then I ran into Al Pacino a few months ago,” Foxx recalled. “I said, ‘Al, you gonna be back in the drop-off line?’ I said, ‘Aw man, shoot, I’m good.’”

Foxx’s decision to embrace becoming a father again also comes after a major turning point in his life.
In 2023, the Oscar winner suffered a serious medical emergency. According to Us Weekly, Foxx later revealed that he experienced a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
“A few years back, I went through something horrible,” he said. “My daughter made sure I got back. Now, seeing that I have a new life and to have my daughters embrace it, that’s all that matters, you know.”
Foxx is already a dad to two daughters. He shares Corinne, 32, with ex Connie Kline and Anelise Bishop, 17, with ex Kristin Grannis.
Both daughters played an important role in his recovery. According to People, Corinne helped her father through his health crisis, while Foxx has credited Anelise with helping him during his hospitalization by playing guitar at his bedside.
Corinne, who has worked alongside her father on “Beat Shazam” for eight years, also expressed her support for his next chapter. She reflected on what she has learned from working with Foxx after growing up visiting him on sets.
“I just feel like I learned that you don’t have to be so serious to be great at your job,” she told E! News. “You kind of set the tone for everybody on set and he does a great job doing that.”

Foxx and Huckstepp have kept much of their relationship out of the spotlight. The pair were first publicly linked in 2023 after they were spotted dining together in Malibu, California.
According to People, the couple briefly split in early 2025 before reconnecting a few months later. They were seen together several times throughout the year, including outings in Malibu and Miami.
News broke in May 2026 that Foxx and Huckstepp were expecting their first child together, which will be Foxx’s third. In July, the couple stepped out for dinner in Beverly Hills, California, where Huckstepp showed off her growing baby bump.
The new arrival comes more than three decades after Foxx first became a father. Corinne was born in 1994, while Anelise arrived in 2008.
For Foxx, welcoming another child following his health crisis has become less about his initial concern over his age and more about appreciating the next chapter.
“This is part of living,” Foxx told E! News. “Having a new life to live and share with is amazing.”
