Miss Universe Suddenly Collapses During Parade – Sending Our Well Wishes

Fátima Bosch, who was recently crowned Miss Universe 2025 in November, suddenly collapsed during the Fruit and Flower Festival in Ecuador on Sunday, Feb. 15.

She was on a parade float waving to the crowd when her “energy quickly seemed to shift as she struggled to stand,” according to TMZ, adding that she suddenly fell to her knees.

The outlet added that “officials working the event immediately jumped in” to help Bosch. She was “later attended to by paramedics at the scene, and she was relieved of her duties for the day to undergo tests.”

The Moment Fátima Bosch Was Crowned Miss Universe

Along with Bosch, the top five contestants were Miss Ivory Coast Olivia Yace, Miss Venezuela Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser, Miss Philippines Ahtisa Manalo, and Miss Thailand Praveenar Singh. But it ultimately came down to Thailand and Mexico, with Bosch crowned the winner and Singh the runner-up.

However, there was also a lot of controversy surrounding Bosch’s win, as she was publicly berated by an executive, which led to walkouts by the contestants.

“I just want to let my country know, I’m not afraid to make my voice heard,” she said in an interview after the win (translated from Spanish by E! News). “It’s here stronger than ever. I have a purpose. I have things to say.”

“I’m not a doll to be made up, styled and have my clothes changed,” she continued. “I came here to be a voice for all the women and all the girls who fight for causes and to tell my country that I’m completely committed to that.”

Fátima Bosch Admitted She Thought She Was Going To Be Disqualified

In an interview on CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper on Dec. 4, Bosch spoke about the win and admitted that after speaking out, she thought that her time in the competition was over.

“Okay, Mexico now is not going to classify this year,” Bosch said, “But I did what I did because of my values and what I believe.”

“In that time, I didn’t realize all the support that they gave to me,” she added, speaking about how the other contestants supported her by walking out in solidarity.

She also spoke with Good Morning America in another interview, addressing a report that she considered giving up her crown.

“Of course not,” Bosch said. “I will never step away from this crown. I’m not here for fame or modeling or searching for a husband. I’m here because God put a purpose on my heart. I have a mission and I will do that all the years, to serve others, to help.”
