After news of his death broke, his “Godfather” co-stars began speaking out. They honored the actor whose presence helped anchor one of Hollywood’s most iconic sagas.
Al Pacino Honors His ‘Godfather’ Co-Star

“It was an honor to have worked with Robert Duvall,” Pacino said, as reported by Variety. “He was a born actor, as they say, his connection with it, his understanding, and his phenomenal gift will always be remembered. I will miss him.”
Pacino starred alongside Duvall in “The Godfather” and “The Godfather: Part II.” Pacino played Michael Corleone, while Duvall portrayed Tom Hagen, the family’s loyal attorney. Their performances helped define one of film’s most celebrated sagas.
Robert De Niro Pays Respect

De Niro portrayed a young Vito Corleone in “The Godfather: Part II.”
While he and Duvall did not appear together in scenes, both actors became essential to the film’s lasting impact and its place in cinema history.
Duvall’s Wife Releases Heartbreaking Statement

“Yesterday, we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.”
