The beloved ‘90s girl group TLC consists of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. Fans have been excited to see Watkins and Chilli perform again as part of the “It’s Iconic Tour with Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.” However, after Watkins’ recent absence, fans grew concerned for her well-being.
Health Update Shared After Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins’ Health Struggles
GettyWatkins, now 56, received support from Chilli who asked their fans to keep her in their prayers. “I’m going to ask each and every one of you to help me hold her down tonight,” Chilli told fans in a TikTok video on August 28, USA Today reports.
Fans have been waiting for a health update and have grown concerned for Watkins’ health, but that came on Tuesday, September 2. Watkins’ representative, Christal Jordan, told USA Today that she had been hospitalized but is making progress.
“Tionne recently experienced a sickle cell crisis that required hospitalization, and she is currently recovering and regaining her strength,” the statement said. “Because the It’s Iconic Tour is such an interactive show, we made the decision to continue, with Chilli performing and receiving incredible support from Salt-N-Pepa, En Vogue, and most importantly, the fans.”

Hearing audiences sing her parts, lift her up in prayer, and surround TLC with so much love has meant more than we can express. Sickle cell is a serious illness, so we ask everyone to please keep the prayers coming as Tionne continues to recover. We are immensely grateful for the love and support.”
Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins Discusses Genetic Disorder
Watkins has been battling this disorder, which is genetic, since birth, and she has previously opened up about her health. In an appearance on “Good Morning America” in 2018, in promotion of her memoir, “A Sick Life: TLC ‘n Me: Stories from On and Off the Stage,” she said, “I went through so much.”
Watkins continued, “I was told at 7 years old I would never live past 30. I would be disabled my whole life and never have kids. But I traveled the world in TLC.”
Watkins’ last Instagram post was a selfie of her looking gorgeous. It was shared on August 24. In the comments, fans left supportive messages and well-wishes. “Hope you’re feeling better. I have Sickle Cell also so I know how it can be,” a comment reads. “Praying for your strength. Your sis @therealchilli was holding it down for you and I love that for you because sometimes we can feel all alone at times.”
“I’m praying for your health healing. God will heal you I know that much Tionne…I love You so much and wishing the best for you right now,” another fan shared.
The comment section has also been flooded with red hearts as fans and celebrities show the performer some love.
