When RHONJ returns to Bravo for Season 15, there won’t be any “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” cast members in the mix of new members.
In a new interview, Sammi Giancola and Nicole Polizzi said they are not interested in joining the show, despite long-running rumors linking them to the series. They noted they prefer to stay away from reality TV formats that focus heavily on personal drama and airing “dirty laundry.”
‘Jersey Shore’ Stars Not Interested in RHONJ Crossover
GettyIn an interview with Decider, “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” stars Nicole Polizzi and Sammi Giancola sat down to talk about the final season of the series that will air on MTV. The conversation turned to RHONJ, where both were passionate about their disinterest in a crossover with the Bravo reality series.
Polizzi, a mom of three who is married to Jionni LaValle for almost a decade stated, “I feel like ‘Housewives,’ like, they dig for dirty laundry, and they don’t care. With us, I would never try and purposefully hurt my friends.”
She added, “I’m not down with that vibe. I’m a fan, but absolutely not.”
Giancola, who recently married Justin May and is a mother to her first child, is also not interested in being a part of the drama that surrounds the Jersey franchise.
“We don’t intentionally try to bring up people’s personal [issues] or horrible things in their lives. We will not try to throw digs at each other and ruin each other’s lives, where I think, the ‘Housewives,’ like you said, have a little bit more of people [digging] up dirt. Even though I am a huge fan,” she added.
Mike Sorrentino, who was with Polizzi and Giancola for their Decider interview, also shared his thoughts on the franchise.
“We protect each other,” Sorrentino explained. “There’s going to always be some disagreements within the group. But as a whole group, we sit down and try to solve them. [We don’t] hire private investigators to continue to attack each other.”
Andy Cohen Would Never Ask Nicole Polizzi to Be on RHONJ, Here’s Why
In a 2023 interview for his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live, Cohen spoke to Polizzi about their alleged “war” over remarks he made about her joining the Real Housewives franchise.
“Now Snooki and I have been in a public war that I was not psyched about because I don’t want to be in a war with you, Snooki,” Cohen admitted.
“Neither do I. You were just a little sarcastic, so I had to come back,” she added.
Cohen tried to explain his remarks. “I said, ‘I don’t see it.’ Right. I was like, ‘I don’t see it at all. Ever,'” he explained. “Now here’s why I said it: I view you as like, one of the faces of MTV and the face of Jersey Shore.”
“And so to me, it’s like putting Mickey Mouse in a Bugs Bunny cartoon,” he concluded. “It’s too different. You know what I mean?” The two subsequently agreed to let bygones be bygones.
The new season of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” airs on Thursday, May 7 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV. RHONJ is currently filming Season 15.
