Mary Cosby has spoken out following the tragic news that her son, Robert Jr., has passed away at the age of 23.
“Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star said in a statement to TMZ. “Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in Godโs promise and in knowing he is finally at peace.
“We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
Robert Jr. died on Monday in Utah after emergency personnel responded to a call that night for a “full arrest/medical emergency” for a 23-year-old male.

Mary also shared the statement on her Instagram page, and lots of comments poured in.
“Devastated.๐ข My heart goes out to you and your family.I pray he is now resting in peace. May God cover you during this incredibly difficult time. My prayers are with you. We love you, Mary.๐๐ฝ,” The Real Housewives of Atlantaย star Cynthia Bailey wrote.
“โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ,” Mary’s castmate Lisa Barlow posted.
“Iโm so saddened and sorry ๐ข sending love and prayers,” Mary’s castmate Britani Bateman said.

“Devastatingly sad news out of SLC. This is every parentโs worst nightmare. My heart is broken for Mary, and I am sending all my love to her and Robert Sr,” Cohen said.

During the time the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 6 reunion was being filmed, Robert Jr. was being held in Salt Lake County Metro Jail, and Mary opened up about the struggles of seeing her son struggling.
โIโm not worried about him,โ Mary said through tears, explaining that he is at least somewhere that he can’t use drugs.
โAt some point, I have to step back so that he can learn and he can make his own decisions, and unfortunately, heโs learning the hard way. But Iโm OK with it,โ she continued. โItโs just, you donโt want to see your kid suffer, but I know itโs good. And Iโd rather him be there than dead, you know?โ




Mary, my deepest sympathy for you and your family during this tragic loss of your son. I watched how you struggled with him and did everything you could for him. I hope your experience opens the eyes of millions of parents watching your show make sure mental health is a terrible disease. Itโs overlooked too often. You gave him your all with your beautiful heart. Be good to yourself.
