“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., has tragically passed away at the age of 23, TMZ reports.
The outlet details that Robert passed away on Monday in Utah, with no cause of death being released. However, police responded to a possible overdose, which “turned into a death investigation upon arrival.”
Police in Salt Lake City told TMZ that they responded to a call for a “full arrest/medical emergency.”

Robert Jr. Was Released From Prison Just A Few Weeks Before His Passing
Robert Jr. was released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 3, after serving two months behind bars due to charges stemming from an incident involving his ex-wife, Alexiana Smokoff. Specifically, the son of the reality star violated a pretrial protective order, and he plead guilty to eight chargers including assault, criminal trespass, violation of a protective order, violation of a jail release court order on Nov. 25.
His attorney, in a statement to PEOPLE after he was released, said Robert “expresses deep regret regarding his prior actions and acknowledges that his past behavior demonstrates poor judgment.” The lawyer added that his actions were due to “an absence of coping skills when dealing with a painful separation from his wife, as he was unprepared for the sudden dissolution of their union.”
“To ensure his continued success Robert is committed to taking responsibility, engaging in therapy and securing employment,” his lawyer added. “Unfortunately, we sometimes learn more from our mistakes than our successes. Robert is on the right path and moving forward in a positive direction.”
