Britani Bateman has been open about her strained relationship with her daughters, Olivia and Taylor Bateman, on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.”
During season 5, she revealed that her daughters weren’t speaking to her and admitted to putting men before them.
The following season, which is currently airing as of this writing, Olivia sat down with her mom in front of the cameras for the first time to air out her grievances, which included feeling ignored by Britani.
In an October 29 episode of “The Viall Files,” Britani shared that her relationship with her daughters had improved. “Just surface level, it’s so much better,” she told Nick Viall.
“Like for me, all is right with the world now. Like, there’s hardly anything that can go wrong for me now, with my babies. Now that I have my babies, that’s all I need,” the reality star added.
Britani Bateman Reveals Why She Remarried
During her appearance on “RHOSLC” season 6, Olivia told cameras that her mom changed after marrying her second husband.
While on the Viall Files, Britani shared that she had gotten remarried because she wanted to give her kids a complete family.
“There is no worse pain than what happened to my little family,” she said of her divorce from her first husband.
Britani continued, “I wanted the privilege of what you guys have, and what your parents have, and what my parents had.”
“I wanted that, and I just saw this as being the best way to rear a child. Two parents where you can bounce ideas off of each other, you can tag team, you can give different kinds of discipline and different kinds of love … there’s nothing better,” she said.
The mom of two admitted that she wanted a “perfect family,” and thought she had found it by re-marrying, but it went “horribly wrong.”
“Whatever happened estranged my daughters from me, and I’ve never experienced more hell in my entire life,” Britani stated.
Britani & Jared Osmond Broke Off Their Two-Week Engagement
Britani announced in the season 6 premiere of “RHOSLC” that she and her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Jared Osmond, were engaged.
Amid surprised looks from her castmates, she then informed them that they had broken off their engagement two weeks later.
“We just decided that our kids weren’t on board, and we really want our kids to be a part of it. They were not happy because we were so on and off last year. So, we decided to call it off,” she explained.
Later on in the season, she admitted to still seeing Osmond, which her castmates advised against.
On October 16, Britani told Decider where she and Osmond stand. “We talk every day … We hang out, we talk, we’re friends. We might even be best friends. But together — no. Not romantically,” she said.
