Sai De Silva Reveals What Led to Divorce Filing From Husband David Craig

Sai De Silva is opening up about her split from husband David Craig following the news of their divorce filing.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” star recently spoke candidly about the emotional toll of the breakup while also making it clear that there is still a great deal of respect between the two after nearly two decades together.

Sai spoke out on Page Six Radio, sharing that she didn’t expect the divorce news to become public in the way it did.

“I’m in a really good place now,” she said. “I think at first I was a little shaken up and — and a little bit upset. I respect David so much, you know? That’s somebody I’ve been with for 17 years. He’s the father of my kids. I never want this to be seen in a way like, ‘I can’t stand him, and we’re so angry with each other.’”

The comments marked Sai’s most detailed public remarks yet about the end of the marriage after news broke that David had filed for divorce earlier this year.

While Sai did not go into specific details about the breakdown of the relationship, she appeared to suggest that time and personal growth ultimately changed the dynamic between them.

Sai hinted at what went wrong, noting that if “you don’t grow together, you grow apart, and it’s really hard to glue it back once you’ve grown apart.”

The quote quickly caught the attention of Bravo fans online, especially as many viewers have followed Sai’s relationship journey since she joined the rebooted RHONY cast.

Sai and David share two children together, daughter London and son Rio, and had largely kept their marriage out of the Bravo spotlight, with David only occasionally appearing on the series and on Sai’s social media.

Still, Sai made it clear she wants the situation handled with care and maturity, particularly because of their family.

The Divorce Could Become a Major RHONY Storyline

The timing of the split is especially notable because filming is already underway for the next season of “The Real Housewives of New York City.”

Bravo recently confirmed Sai’s return alongside Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank, Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond and Daisy Toye. Former cast member Carole Radziwill is also set to appear this season in a “friend of” role for Season 16.

With cameras rolling, fans are already speculating about whether Sai’s divorce will become one of the central storylines of the upcoming season.

For now, however, Sai appears focused on moving forward and protecting her peace while navigating a very public chapter of her personal life.

“My heart is with my children, and my focus is on giving them as much stability and love as possible,” Sai previously shared in a statement after the divorce filing became public.

As interest around the split continues to grow, many Bravo viewers are now waiting to see how much of the situation ultimately plays out on screen.
