De Silva and Craig first met in 2009 while in Costa Rica. De Silva previously shared details about their first meeting and how their relationship began.

David Craig Maintains Private Life Amid RHONY Filming
While De Silva has a public presence through her role on “Real Housewives of New York City,” Craig has largely stayed out of the spotlight. He has appeared occasionally on the show but is known for keeping a more private profile.
De Silva previously addressed Craig’s preference for privacy, according to the official Bravo site. “He likes his privacy,” she wrote. “In a world where we share everything, it’s nice to have something that is private in my life.”
She also spoke about his role as a parent. “He is very involved when it comes to his family and I think he should win an award for father of the year!” De Silva added.
In a past post on her blog Scout The City, De Silva explained why she keeps parts of her relationship out of the public eye. “We live in a world filled with over sharing and documenting our every move that I think it’s healthy to keep some things private. No, he’s not a celebrity or a famous athlete like some of you have asked.”
She also described Craig as supportive in their relationship. “He’s my perfect guy,” she wrote. “He’s always supportive and encouraging to me and our kids. I admit, he’s a terrible Instagram husband, but other than that we’re thick as thieves.”
Sai De Silva’s Divorce May Play Out on RHONY Season 16
“Real Housewives of New York City” is currently filming season 16, and the couple’s split is expected to be part of the storyline. De Silva joined the series ahead of season 14 following the show’s reboot in 2022.
The current cast includes De Silva, Erin Lichy, and Jessel Taank, along with newcomers Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye. Carole Radziwill has also returned as a friend of the cast.
De Silva has previously spoken about the challenges of sharing her personal life on camera. In an interview with People, she said, “To be vulnerable and share my feelings is just something that I don’t really do.”
She added, “I don’t know if it’s because it has so much to do with me being a New Yorker, you just have a very tough exterior so you can make it here. I’m glad it’s over but I have to keep talking about it.”
