“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Shannon Beador is mourning the devastating loss of her beloved dog, Archie.
The Bravo star shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Thursday, May 14, revealing that her longtime companion had passed away one day earlier.
Beador Remembers Her Beloved Dog
Alongside a beach photo of Archie, Beador added three dove emojis before opening up about the immense grief she and her family are experiencing.
“Heaven has a new special angel,” she began. “Archie passed away yesterday and the girls and I are heartbroken.”
Beador reflected on the special bond she shared with Archie over the last decade, describing him as much more than a pet.
“For the last 10 years, Archie wasn’t just my dog – he was my constant comfort, protector, best friend and truly the real ‘man’ in my life,” she wrote. “I have been through so many highs and lows, and through every good time and every heartache, Archie was always by my side and loved me the same way every single day.”
She continued by praising Archie’s unwavering loyalty and loving nature, noting that fans of RHOC had the opportunity to watch him grow up over the years.
According to Beador, anyone who met Archie immediately recognized his gentle personality.
“Never judging me and always giving pure, loyal, and unconditional love,” she wrote. “Everyone that got to know him could see his gentle heart and sweet soul.”
Beador also looked back on one particularly meaningful final day with Archie.
She shared that her daughter Stella was able to fly home from Paris before Archie’s passing, allowing the family to spend precious time together.
“Archie spent his last day doing his favorite things — standing in the ocean, sitting in the park, and eating, a lot of eating,” she wrote, joking that he enjoyed “more than just his usual carrots.”
Archie Was a ‘Big Brother’ to Their Other Dog
The television personality also shared how Archie helped welcome another dog, Troy, into their family, saying it has brought comfort during an incredibly painful time.
“One of the most selfless and thoughtful things Archie did was to bring Troy into our lives so we aren’t alone,” she wrote, adding that Troy continues searching for his “big brother,” making the loss even more emotional.
“There is such a void in our household right now,” Beador admitted. “I keep thinking he is just taking a nap but Archie is now a very special angel in heaven and is swimming, running, and playing catch with no more pain.”
She ended the emotional tribute by thanking fans for their support and encouraging fellow pet owners to cherish time with their animals. “Please give your animals a hug and kiss for Archie today,” she wrote.
Beador Previously Shared His Diagnosis
The sad update comes just weeks after Beador revealed Archie had been diagnosed with brain cancer following multiple seizures earlier in May.
At the time, she shared that Archie had seen both a neurologist and oncologist and was expected to begin radiation treatment.
“Our heart aches for our sweet Archie,” she wrote at the time. “He means the world to the girls and I. We are going to do everything we can to help him fight this.”
