“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Shannon Beador’s love for her dog, Archie, has been well documented. This is both on the show and via social media. Sadly, the RHOC fan-favorite has shared some sad news about the lovable golden retriever- he has brain cancer. The reality star shared a heartfelt statement.
Beador took to Instagram on May 5 to share the news about Archie. She said, “I know my posts about my dogs are usually fun and silly, but today I wanted to share something more serious. After experiencing multiple seizures, Archie has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Our heart aches for our sweet Archie. He means the world to the girls and I.”
She then spoke about next-steps for Archie, writing, “We are going to do everything we can to help him fight this. Archie has seen a neurologist and oncologist and it has been recommended that he start radiation soon.”
Beador then said, “If anyone has experience with this or advice to share, it would truly mean so much to the girls and I. Please don’t hesitate to DM and reach out. Thank you for loving Archie as much as we do.”
Fans Are Supporting Shannon Beador & Wishing Archie the Best
GettyFollowing Beador’s statement about Archie having brain cancer, she received an outpouring of support from RHOC fans as well as some of her costars. This is the case as viewers have watched the beloved K-9 on the show for years.
First, Emily Simpson wrote, “We are here for you, Shannon.” Gina Kirschenheiter replied with a broken heart emoji. Beador’s daughter, Sophie, replied, “Archie loves you, too.” Tamra Judge said, “Heartbreaking. Prayers for Archie.”
A fan wrote, “I don’t have advice, just a big hug for beautiful Archie.” Someone else wrote, “Poor baby, God that invasive disease is so evil. Archie is the best soul in all of Orange County, and I am sending so much love to you and beautiful Archie.”
A different Instagram user replied, “Archie, you are so loved by the whole Bravo Universe! Sending you hugs and love.” After that, another RHOC watcher stated, “Sending Archie and the Beador girls lots of love from Australia. Praying he gets better soon.”
Lastly, a person who had experienced a similar situation offered kind words. They wrote, “I know how much you love Archie. I hope that your doggy gets rid of that terrible disease.”
Shannon Previously Spoke About Archie’s Health
GettyBeador adopted Archie in 2016. Since then, she’s been open about how much of a significant part of her life he became. However, per PEOPLE, she opened up in 2023 in a now-deleted Instagram post about his health at the time. The post featured images of the beloved puppy, including an E-collar around his neck.
She said, “Archie has not been doing well for the last few months. We are taking Archie to our vet and a specialist to get him better, but it is difficult. We are told his immune system is shot.” Beador also explained that Archie “has been on multiple antibiotics for various skin infections for the last 3 months.”
The RHOC star went on, “Right now we are combining western and holistic medicine in hopes that something will work. Today, he scratched his front leg raw with a cone on his head and a sock on his back foot; it happened in just minutes.”
Beador will be featured on season 20 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” where, as filming is ongoing, it’s likely she will open up about Archie’s health.
