Fans of “The Bold and the Beautiful” are about to see a familiar face back in Los Angeles. Soap star Darin Brooks is officially returning to the long-running daytime drama on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, which also happens to mark the actor’s 42nd birthday.
Brooks has been on a nearly two-and-a-half-year hiatus from the soap after last appearing as Wyatt Spencer in January 2024. Read on to discover five fast facts about Brooks, his soap career, and his life outside of daytime television as he returns to “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
1. Darin Brooks Has Portrayed Wyatt Spencer for Over a Decade
While Darin Brooks is gearing up for his return to Los Angeles, he is no stranger to the city. He began playing Wyatt Spencer, the son of Bill Spencer, Jr. and Quinn Fuller, in June 2013.
Brooks held this role for over a decade before his last appearance in January 2024. Now, a little over two years later, “B&B” fans are excited to welcome Brooks back home and discover what Wyatt has been up to during his last two years away from Los Angeles.
2. Darin Brooks Got His Daytime Start on ‘Days of Our Lives’
Before spending more than a decade on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Brooks first made a name for himself in daytime television on “Days of Our Lives.”
In his early 20s, the actor landed the role of Max Brady, the adoptive son of Shawn and Caroline Brady. Brooks remained on the soap for five years before making his final appearance as Max in March 2010.
3. Darin Brooks Is an Emmy Award-Winning Actor
While in Salem, Darin Brooks became an Emmy Award-winning actor. In 2009, Brooks won a Daytime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Max Brady.
Brooks was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2021 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Wyatt Spencer on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
4. Darin Brooks Is a Father of Two Daughters
Along with his longtime soap career, Brooks has also embraced family life off-screen. Brooks and Kelly Kruger, who portrayed Mackenzie Browning on “The Young and the Restless,” welcomed their first child, Everleigh, in September 2019. Their second daughter, Gemma, was born in January 2022.
5. Darin Brooks Announced His Divorce From Kelly Kruger In 2026
Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger began dating in 2010. After dating for six years, the pair exchanged vows on March 21, 2016. After ten years of marriage and the birth of two children, Brooks and Kruger announced their amicable divorce in March 2026.
In a joint Instagram post, the former couple shared their decision with fans, writing, “This is obviously not fun news to share but we have shared so many wonderful years together, and we’re truly grateful for the support, love, and joy you all have shown us along the way.”
The former couple were clear that while their marriage is ending they still have love for one another, adding, “While we’ve made the difficult decision to part ways as a couple, we remain deeply respectful of each other and united in our commitment to our beautiful family. Our focus is on raising our girls with love, laughter, and stability, and we look forward to this next chapter as friends and co-parents.”
They ended their post, writing, “Thank you for being such a meaningful part of our journey — your kindness and support means the world to us.”
After more than two years away from the daytime drama, Brooks’ return is already generating excitement among longtime “B&B” viewers eager to welcome Wyatt Spencer back to Los Angeles.
