“The Bold and the Beautiful” star Matthew Atkinson is expecting his second child with his wife, Brytnee Atkinson.
The Thomas Forrester portrayer, 37, took to Instagram to announce the happy news. In a joint post with his wife, Matthew revealed they’re expecting a baby girl.
In the sweet photo, Matthew gently rests his hands on Brytnee’s growing baby bump. “Baby Girl Atkinson loading…” they captioned the post.
In July 2024, Matthew and Brytnee announced they were expecting their first child—a baby boy—whom they welcomed that fall.

Matthew Atkinson’s fellow soap stars took to the comments to celebrate the happy news.
The actor’s on-screen sister on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester), commented, “Ahhhh!! Congratulations!! So so happy for you both! Best news!”
Ashley Jones (Bridget Forrester) wrote, “Omgoodness. Y’all,” alongside pink heart emojis.
Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter) chimed in, “Omg!!! So excited!”
Executive producer Casey Kasprzyk added, “Helllloooooooooo!!!!!! Wow! Best news. Congrats.”
Naomi Matsuda (Li Finnegan), Delon de Metz (Zende Forrester), and Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra) also offered their congratulations.
Meanwhile, “The Young and the Restless” star Tamara Braun (Sienna Bacall) also commented, “Did mama know or did mama know? Tell that Judgy Jude to get ready to be the best big brother to baby girl. I know he will be. I love you, Brytnee. Hugs and kisses for you, Matt, Maisel, Jude, and baby girl. I love you always.”
What Happened to Thomas?
CanvaMatthew Atkinson last appeared on “The Bold and the Beautiful” in September 2025. At the time, Thomas returned to Forrester Creations after his engagement to Paris Buckingham ended.
Thomas expressed interest in rejoining the family business and reclaiming his role as lead designer of Hope for the Future. This is despite Hope Logan’s reluctance to work together again. Not to mention her brother, Deke Sharpe, whom she had hoped would step in as the line’s new designer.
But much to fans’ surprise, Thomas agreed to work on the line in Paris—marking Matthew’s exit from the show once again.
For now, it remains unclear if Matthew will return to the soap anytime soon. Fans, however, are hopeful the show will have a new storyline for Thomas in the near future.
Matthew Atkinson joined “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Thomas Forrester in 2019. Prior to that, he was on “The Young and the Restless” as Austin Travers.
Matthew made his acting debut on the CW drama “One Tree Hill.” Other projects he was on include “Drop Dead Diva,” The Blind Side,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Fletcher Drive,” “Jane by Design,” “Parenthood,” “The Middle,” and “Young & Hungry.”
