Legendary soap star Erika Slezak wrapped up her limited run as Ronnie Bard on “General Hospital,” and she’s already open to returning in the future. That’s great news for her legion of fans who have followed her career, which includes a 40-year stint as Viki Lord on “One Life to Live.”
Slezak popped up in Port Charles as Monica Quartermaine’s long-lost sister on Sept. 26, 2025, and turned the entire family upside down. She introduced herself to most of the Qs at the reading of Monica’s will, and for a while, it looked like the family estate was hers. Eventually, Tracy found Monica’s real will and Ronnie explained how Martin had manipulated her into joining him in his scheme. By the time Ronnie left town, the Quatermaine family had welcomed her as one of their own.
Erika Slezak recently chatted with Soap Opera Digest about the wonderful experience that she had while on GH.
Ronnie’s Clashes With Tracy Were Iconic
ABCSo many of the scenes between Ronnie and Tracy were extremely emotionally charged, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Erika hadn’t worked on a soap in well over a decade before joining GH, but she knew that she could still handle the drama. “I never had any problem with emotional scenes! But I’m glad it happened the way it did and that Martin finally got his comeuppance. It was just terrific, with Tracy barreling in at the end.”
Slezak was also impressed by the caliber of talent that surrounded her. “There are wonderful actors everywhere [on the show] — really, really good, and you have to pull up your A game when you work with people like that! I was a little nervous about that, because I hadn’t done it [in years]. I said, ‘That part of my brain that memorizes easily hasn’t been used in 12, 13 years!’ And for a while, it was touch-and-go. ‘Do I remember all of this now? Can I remember all of this now?’ The first couple of days were a little tricky, and then I kind of got back into the swing of it.”
Erika Slezak Would Do It All Over Again
ABCWhile the actress has mused that she was happy to return home to the East Coast after three weeks of filming on GH, she would consider returning.
“Yes, I would. It was delightful, it was terrific, it was a pleasure. It was different every day, which was unusual for me because Victoria was Victoria all the time. Yes, she was sometimes crazy, but she was always Victoria! Ronnie grew through this whole process, and learned — and yes, I would be open to coming back.”

I watched Vicky on one life to live until it was over. I thoroughly enjoy her as an actress. She is great and would make an incredible addition to the General Hospital family. She fits right in.
I did not know the actor as I did not watch the other Soap. However, I have seen her face before. She was just awesome. I think she was a great sparing partner for Tracey. I would love to see her come back and team up with Tracey and out think the rest of the issues coming up concerning Michael, figure out that Willow was sneaking in the house (wrap that up), and future challenges. She could build a relationship with the Qs.
