Panettiere spent much of her life in the public eye, beginning her acting career as a child star on soaps like “Guiding Light” before becoming widely known for projects including “Remember the Titans,” “Bring It On: All or Nothing,” “Scream” and “Nashville.”
Her August 21 birthday gave fans another opportunity to reflect on that career and the characters they grew up watching.
Panettiere also recently shared her thoughts on getting older. In her May 2026 memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” she wrote about how she viewed aging and personal growth.

She also spoke about her outlook on life during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast.
“I finally feel like I’ve shaken off all this darkness and this negativity, and that means that I’ve closed one door and another door is opened and I can feel it open and I can feel all the possibilities, all the exciting possibilities,” Panettiere said.
She added, “I feel like I have a lot more life to live.”

Panettiere reportedly had special plans surrounding her 37th birthday.
According to Page Six, the actress had planned to travel to Germany to spend time with her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, during her birthday week.
“She was so excited to see her,” a source told the outlet, adding that Panettiere had been telling people how much she was looking forward to their reunion.
Her hairstylist and close friend Erick Orellana shared a similar account. Orellana said Panettiere had discussed taking a vacation and visiting Kaya the last time he saw her several months earlier.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” he said. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
The cause has not been officially confirmed.
