Just like that, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) unfortunately finds herself in another infidelity scandal, and this time it has nothing to do with Liam (Scott Clifton). On the episode airing on August 18, she finds herself waking up naked next to an equally naked Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) at Forrester Creations. Naturally, now sober from the drunken night before, Steffy freaks out, believing she and Carter cheated on their respective spouses. Despite Carter wanting to speak about what happened, Steffy ran out of her family’s company, eager to get home, realizing Finn (Tanner Novlan) was returning to LA.
All that being said, it’s likely Steffy and Carter agree to hide their indiscretion. However, in true soapy fashion, the news can only be hidden for so long before it comes out in the most explosive way possible. And what’s more explosive than having Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) involved in the big reveal? Call me suspicious, but I just have a hunch Sheila will have a hand in this storyline at some point.
Did Steffy and Carter Sleep Together, or Did Sheila Frame Them?
CBSSheila may continue to profess she’s this changed woman, but her history precedes her, causing some serious doubt. It’s not hard to imagine that after she was rejected by Steffy and Finn in Monaco, she was looking for a way to get what she’s wanted for the past few years – a relationship with Finn and Hayes (Bryan David Garlick).
Let’s say that after she witnessed Steffy “end” her marriage to Finn, Sheila got on the flight she was supposed to board back to LA. That would probably mean she got back stateside either before or around the same time as Steffy. Then, given how persistent Sheila is, she stalked Steffy to find her in order to have a conversation and save her son’s marriage. Once Sheila tracked Steffy late at night at Forrester Creations, Sheila witnessed how drunk Steffy and Carter were and how close the duo was to each other. Seeing the circumstances, Sheila then decided to set them up. Staging the scene to make it appear as if Steffy and Carter slept with each other.
If all this were to happen, Sheila could then go to Steffy, who again is likely to keep this all a secret from Finn, and blackmail Steffy for time with Finn and Hayes. Sheila could threaten to tell Finn the “truth” if Steffy doesn’t give in to her demands.
Not for nothing, observant viewers who watched The Bold and the Beautiful episodes on August 17th and 18th will recall that Steffy and Carter weren’t exactly shown hooking up. They just woke up together naked.
If Steffy and Carter Cheated, Will Sheila Find Out?
There’s also the possibility that Steffy and Carter did cheat, and she finds herself pregnant. A baby born of infidelity is the classic soap storyline. Since Sheila is constantly at the hospital sniffing around Finn and Li (Naomi Matsuda), Sheila could overhear Steffy with her OBGYN recounting the cheating scandal in an effort to quietly help figure out the paternity of her baby. Should this scenario play out, Sheila would again have ammunition to use against Steffy in an effort to blackmail her daughter-in-law into granting access to Finn and Hayes.
For now, this is all in the realm of hypotheticals. However, if forced to choose between the two Sheila scenarios, I vote for the former.
