The Young and the Restless: Lily “Betrays” a Special Man in her Life?

Looking back over the last two years, The Young and the Restless’ Lily (Christel Khalil) hasn’t had an easy go of it. Professionally, she was outmaneuvered when it came to Chancellor, first by Billy (Jason Thompson) and then by The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Then, on the personal front, when it rains, it pours.

Romantically, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) left her for the dearly departed Heather (Vail Bloom). And when Lily started to find love again with Nate’s (Sean Hastings) brother Damian (Jermaine Rivers), he was murdered in France in large part thanks to Cane (Billy Flynn). Speaking of Cane, the whole Aristotle Dumas scheme to win her love and affection completely backfired, causing detrimental effects across Genoa City.

Oh, and in terms of her family, she was butting heads with Devon (Bryton James) off and on due to his overprotective nature, Malcolm (Shemar Moore) popped back into town with a medical crisis, and she discovered Holden (Nathan Owens) is her long-lost brother.

Fast forward to the present, and things are looking up for Lily. She and Cane are actually on the road to reconciliation, Malcolm is doing better, she appears to be getting along with Holden, and it looks like Victor is actually going to live up to his promise and give her Chancellor back. While this should be a period of her riding the high, her golden age may be short-lived thanks to a big decision she’s likely to make.

Going back to Lily acquiring Chancellor from Victor. It’s a huge company, and she’ll probably be in the market for some qualified executives to help her run it. Given their closeness these days and the fact that he’s unemployed, she’s likely to ask Cane to help her. Perhaps, she offers him the chance to be her Chief Operating Officer (COO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO). If that happens, he’d probably jump at the chance to work with her.

The real shocker for some Young and the Restless viewers may come should she decide to further cement her growing bond with Holden by hiring him to work at Chancellor. He has the business experience, and it’s starting to appear as if she believes she can trust him. Plus, he’s also out of work and plans to stick around in Genoa City. So, why not?

Devon Fumes at Lily for Working with Cane and Holden?

With all that being said, Devon would probably be livid to learn that Lily would not only leave Winters behind for Chancellor, but would do so to start a “family” business of her own with two men he can’t stand. His overprotective nature would kick into high gear, and it’s easy to see him ranting and raving about Lily misplacing her trust and making a horrible decision. Although some of his probable hostility could be rooted in fear for Lily, a good chunk of it would likely stem from the fact that he’d be jealous his sister is “trading him in” for her other brother. As petty as they may sound, people are human, and this is the soap world.

The Young and the Restless viewers will just have to watch and see if these predictions ring true. But what do you think? Would you like to see Lily working with Cane and Holden?
