‘Young & the Restless’ Star Shares ‘Awkward’ First Meeting With Co-Star

“The Young and the Restless” star Roger Howarth (Matt Clark) shared a fun story about his unforgettable first encounter with his co-star Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman).

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor revealed he actually met Morrow years before they began working together.

“I met Josh in 2013 on a sidewalk while he was having some breakfast by himself and I walked by,” Howarth recalled.

At the time, the actor was on “General Hospital” as Franco Baldwin. He revealed that he immediately recognized Morrow as a fellow daytime vet.

“I said, ‘Oh, my God, you’re on that show,'” Howarth added. “I said hi, he said hi back, and, you know, I’m socially awkward, and so that was the end of the conversation [laughs]!”

Interestingly, Howarth’s awkward first encounter with Morrow actually made a lasting impression on his “The Young and the Restless” co-star.

“When I met him again, 12 years later, not thinking he would remember that at all, the first thing he said to me was, ‘You know, we’ve actually met once before….’” Howarth continued. “I thought that was really sweet, you know? He’s a really good dude.”

Roger Howarth on Fellow ‘The Young & the Restless’ Stars

Howarth has nothing but good words to say about his other “The Young and the Restless” co-stars, particularly Sharon Case. Aside from Morrow, Hogwarth said Case made him feel at home quickly.

“They could not possibly have been more welcoming,” the actor gushed. “And I’ve enjoyed working with both of them a lot.”

While Howarth gets along well with Morrow and Case in real life, their on-screen characters are anything but friendly.

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers reveal that Howarth’s character, Mitch, continues to insist he’s not Matt Clark. Things are about to get even messier, especially with his wife, Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun), involved in an affair with Nick and Sharon’s son, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams).

This week, Matt/Mitch gives out a new order to Detective Burrow: get rid of the security stationed outside of Noah’s hospital room. Is Noah in danger?

Clearly, Nick and Sharon have every reason to be on high alert with Matt/Mitch around. After all, he tormented Sharon years ago and even faked his death. What kind of trouble will he stir up this time on “The Young and the Restless”?
