Jeff Probst Takes Viewers Into the ‘Survivor 50’ Snow Day Ahead of Premiere

After 49 incredible seasons, “Survivor” host Jeff Probst has seen it all, and he’s loved every second of it.

In fact, as he gears up for the show’s long-awaited 50th season, “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,” Probst hosted his very own “snow day” hangout with the members of “Survivor 50” and caught up with them like old friends.

Jeff Probst Hosted a Casual ‘Snow Day’ With ‘Survivor 50’ Contestants

In a video posted to Instagram, Probst shared a live video of a pre-season get-together with all the members of the upcoming season.

“For a year and a half, we’ve been planning this weekend and this run-up to our premiere and then the snow fell, the plans changed and everything got canceled but we’re pivoting, we’re adapting, like a ‘Survivor’ player,” Probst said in the beginning, referring to the snowstorm that hit New York over the weekend.

As a result, Probst invited the “Survivor 50” contestants to a more casual hangout with conference rooms and TV screens for a more casual viewing.

“If you haven’t heard it’s a three-hour premiere, CBS gave us the entire night,” he told the camera. “If you do have plans, you need to cancel them. But what we thought would be fun is, before we show them the episode, let’s just do a hang, and make it sort of like a snow day. It’s like an after-show only before the show.”

Jeff Probst Interviewed the Stars of ‘Survivor 50’

During the video, Probst then went on to interview some of the stars of “Survivor 50.”

Among them was Christian Hubicki, who last competed on the show on the David vs. Goliath season. When asked if he was more excited or apprenhensive, Hubicki gave an honest answer. “I am apprehensive more because there’s so much that happens in this episode and I don’t know what you chose to put in there,” he said.

Probst then went on to ask the same question to another David vs. Goliath star, Angelina Keeley. “100% excitement,” she said.” This is just epic, right? The legacy of this show, and to be a part of this family.”

Keeley and Probst then talked about her iconic moment in Season 37 when she asked Natalie Cole for her jacket after her elimination.

“The players evolve the game, you evolved the game,” Probst told her. “Now it’s become a thing.”

“The game evolves, you guys adapt to it just as much and that’s what makes it exciting and fun and worth watching,” Keeley added.

Probst also talked to Benjamin “Coach” Wade, who instantly gave his a quote. “Oscar Wilde once said ‘I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word that’s coming out of my mouth,'” he quoted.

“I wanted to make sure I didn’t embarrass my family because I’m a family man now, I wanted my kids to be proud of me, but overall I thought to myself, ‘How can I add to me legacy?'” Coach opened up about why he join the season. “But it wasn’t about what I could bring to the show this time, it was what the show could bring to me.”

“Survivor” 50 premieres on Wednesday, February 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
