Ariana Grande has finally revealed her favorite “Wicked: For Good” song ahead of the film’s streaming debut.
The former “The Voice” coach shared the details of her song choice in a new YouTube trailer, which is titled “Feeling the Music of ‘Wicked: For Good.'” It’s a surprising pick that’s already got fans buzzing.

The “Wicked” soundtrack is filled with unforgettable songs, and the film’s sequel has plenty of standout moments for Ariana Grande to stretch herself as a singer. But there’s one song that captured her heart most of all.
“‘Thank Goodness’ is my favorite song that Glinda gets to sing,” Grande admitted. “It’s a really important moment for Glinda because it’s the first time that you get to see how hard it is for her to keep up this front, for her to perform for these people. She doesn’t understand why she just feels so empty.”
The film’s composer, Stephen Schwartz, added to Grande’s commentary, saying that the singing superstar’s pick is also a favorite of many of the musical’s fans.
“A lot of people have told me that it is their favorite song. It’s a song entirely of subtext, where she’s singing one thing, but we know that she’s feeling another. There’s so much complexity in the performance.”
He said that when writing the music for the long-running Broadway hit, he tried to illustrate that Glinda wasn’t as happy as she appeared in the song’s subtext. “So you can feel the loss and the pain underneath these cheerful words,” Schwartz explained.
He concluded, “Ariana has such nuance when she sings, and she takes that journey so honestly and heartbreaking. It’s really beautiful.”
Ariana Grande Called Playing ‘Wicked’s’ Glinda an ‘Honor’
In a 2025 interview with Variety, Ariana Grande discussed the importance of playing the role of Glinda in “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good” on both a personal and professional level.
“I saw Kristen [Chenoweth, Broadway’s original Glinda], and it was heaven,” Grande explained. “It’s surreal to think that I’m stepping into these shoes, ones I’ve idolized since I was a kid. It’s the honor of my life.”
She continued, “It’s wild to think that something I manifested as a kid has become real. But it wasn’t just manifestation, it was a lot of hard work. My mom always taught me that nothing is out of reach if you’re kind, you work hard, and you believe in yourself. That’s what I carried into this role.”
“From the moment it was announced, I realized this role would live with me forever. It’s an honor, but it also comes with so much weight. I wanted to do it justice. Glinda isn’t just a character to me. She’s a symbol of growth and love, and I wanted to give her everything I had,” Grande concluded.
