Former “The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani revealed she felt “desperate” to have another child but feared it wasn’t possible because of her age. Then, what she describes as a “miracle” changed everything, transforming her life in an instant.
The No Doubt singer believed that the opportunity to add to her family had passed her by. However, she never gave up hope.
What Was Gwen Stefani’s ‘Miracle?’
In an interview with Hallow: Prayer & Meditation, Gwen Stefani shared the details of the life-changing event that shifted her beliefs. The entertainer discussed her experience with Jeff Cavins.
She shared a story of working with an atheist man who “was studying the Torah, and he had this big epiphany awakening, and he started talking to me about the Torah I was desperate at this point during all this.”
Stefani continued, “I really wanted to have another baby. I really did. I couldn’t, and I was old.”
The former “Voice” coach shared a heartbreaking story of telling her son Kingston that she was “sorry, your mommy is too old to have a baby” when he asked for a sibling in 2013. She recalled hearing her son praying for a sibling at night, and not knowing if having another baby was in the cards for her. At that time, she and ex-Gavin Rossdale had two sons, Kingston and Zuma.
“I think it was like four weeks later and I was pregnant with Apollo,” she explained, “who I had at 44-years-old, naturally. Totally a full-on gift.” She called her pregnancy a “miracle.”
Stefani and Rossdale were married from 2002 through 2016. Their marriage was later annulled by the Catholic Church in 2021, per Vanity Fair.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton tied the knot seven years after meeting on the set of “The Voice” Season 7. When they first met, both were married at the time, [Shelton was wed to Miranda Lambert], but forged an on-set friendship.
According to PEOPLE, the couple divorced their respective spouses in 2015. By November of that same year, Stefani and Shelton began dating.
They kept their relationship private until February 2016, when they made their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Shelton told Billboard that their relationship blossomed as they bonded over their respective divorces. “She said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it.’ That’s kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day. It went from that to checking in on each other once a week through email.”
“Next thing I know, I wake up, and she’s all I care about. And I’m wondering if she feels the same about me,” Shelton concluded.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton became engaged in October 2020. They married in July 2021.
