After teasing something special was coming to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Hannah Montana,” singer, actress and former “The Voice” coach Miley Cyrus has officially signed on for just that — a special devoted to the iconic Disney Channel show that made her famous.
Variety reported on February 17, 2026, that the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” will premiere on Disney+ on March 24. Disney+ released an epic trailer for the special on social media, too.
Miley Cyrus Says ‘Hannah Montana’ Will ‘Always Be a Part of Who I Am’
“Hannah Montana” aired on Disney Channel from 2006 to 2011, with Cyrus portraying teenager Miley Stewart, who secretly lived a double life as a typical high school student and international pop star Hannah Montana. The show catapulted Cyrus to fame with best-selling albums, sold-out concert tours, and a feature film.
On February 17, Disney+ released a trailer for the new special that begins a Mustang screeching to a halt on a studio lot, with a gold and purple “HM 20” license plate. Though Cyrus is not seen, her mile-high leather boots are — stepping out of the car as an old “Hannah Montana” tune plays on the radio.
According to Variety, the special will be hosted by Alex Cooper, who will interview Cyrus in front of a live studio audience. Together, they’ll look back on iconic moments from the show and air never-before-seen footage. Recreations of the show’s sets are expected, too. Variety noted that Disney also promised, “There will also be some familiar notes that find their way back into the spotlight.”
In a statement, Cyrus said, “‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.”
“The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of,” she continued. “This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
