The 20th season of TLC’s “Sister Wives” premieres on Sunday, Sept. 28, with the Brown family all returning for the milestone season. In the very first episode, Kody Brown and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, discuss their monogamous relationship, while also contemplating the idea of bringing in another wife into the mix.

Kody Brown Contemplates Bringing in a New Wife on ‘Sister Wives’
GettyWill fans meet a potential new wife for Kody Brown on season 20 of “Sister Wives?” Since his previous wives, Meri Brown, Christine Brown Woolley, and Janelle Brown, ended their plural marriage with him between 2021 and 2022, Kody and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, have maintained a monogamous relationship.
However, the new season teases a potential new addition for the Brown family, but Robyn questions her husband’s motives for including another woman in their marriage.
In a first look provided by People, Kody and Robyn are seated in a restaurant where the father of 18 shares, “I think you and I share something very special, but if it’s not duplicatable, it could put us at risk.”
Calling their relationship “wonderful,” Kody then admits that “there’s something I want, maybe more than you do.” When Robyn asks, “What? What do you mean?” He replies, “I don’t want to talk about that subject,” to which she responds, “Oh, you’re talking about sex.”
He then adds, “My primary motivation, I’m afraid, at this state of my life, would be, yeah, just how good looking she is.” While Robyn laughs at this notion, she doesn’t seem truly happy with his answer, “And that would be the very worst reason.” Although Kody insists that he would “want to be able to connect” with a potential wife, Robyn shares, “You don’t understand how you’re coming across.”
“I know. I’m a guy and I don’t freaking care,” he tells her. In a confessional, Robyn shares that her husband was acting like “a pig.”
“You’re just kind of being a bit of a pig right now,” she says with a laugh.
The ‘Sister Wives’ Cast Gave a One-Word Description of Season 20
Before the season 20 premiere, TLC shared a clip of the cast sharing their thoughts on what fans can expect. Each cast member was asked to describe the new season in one word, with Meri starting it off with, “I would say this season ends with success.”
“Unexpected,” Janelle says, with Kody sharing, “Closure,” and Robyn stating, “Changes.” What fans might find most surprising was Christine’s answer as her one word to describe the season was “Justice.”
Although Christine did not clarify why season 20 brought her justice, she did share that viewers will see a surprising encounter between Kody and her husband, David Woolley.
“What you need to know and pay attention to is, why? Why are they actually hanging out? Just wait for that one,” she tells the cameras. Further, Christine called the season “pretty spicy.”
In the season 20 trailer, fans get a glimpse of Meri testing the waters of romance by going speed dating, the unexpected sight of Kody and David hanging out, and Janelle letting loose as she embraces Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
Fans also see Kody meeting with all of his former wives to confront their biggest dispute: Coyote Pass, while also meeting with each of them individually to offer long-awaited apologies.
“Sister Wives” season 20 premieres on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
