The actor’s middle child, Dominic, has expressed an interest in acting and performing. This Christmas, fans can catch the father-son duo in action on the Great American Family network.
On August 5, Mario and Dominic Lopez attended Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event to promote youth in the entertainment industry. With the premiere of their holiday film just months away, Mario Lopez took the time to promote the movie and describe how special it was to work together.

“Dancing With the Stars” alum Mario Lopez and his wife, Courtney Mazza, married in 2012. They went on to welcome three children: daughter Gia, 15, and sons Dominic, 12, and Santino, 7. As the children grow and develop their own hobbies and interests, Mario Lopez feels delighted that Dominic is following in his footsteps.
The father-son duo recently filmed the holiday film, “Christmas at the Starlight,” for the Great American Family network together. While it isn’t Dominic’s first screen credit, it’s certainly his biggest role so far. Working alongside his father makes it extra memorable.
”It’s a pretty special moment being that I was a former kid actor myself, and now getting to see my son sort of take this journey,” the actor proudly told PEOPLE. “It makes for a very special moment. We’re excited to be here.”
Mario Lopez documented the occasion, capturing several excellent moments on camera for a sweet Instagram post.
“Hosted Hollywood’s future… with mine standing right beside me. An awesome night! Thanks @Variety for the honor and the memories. Proud of you Dominic,” the 52-year-old captioned the post.
“Best night ever for Nico!!!” Courtney Mazza gleefully commented.
“What’s better than Mario Lopez? Mario Lopez and his mini me!” a fan added, noting the strong resemblance between the actor and his son.

The Actor Can’t Wait For Fans to See the Film This Holiday Season
It’ll be several months until “Christmas at the Starlight” premieres, but fans are already excited to see Mario and Dominic Lopez onscreen together.
“I saw a rough cut the other day. It turned out great,” the “Saved By the Bell” star told PEOPLE. “Tony Danza plays a grandfather. I’m the father. [Dominic is] a grandson, and we’re tap dancing, a little singing.”
Courtney Mazza also performs a song in the film, making the occasion a major family affair. At the end of the day, that’s the message that the filmmakers hoped to capture.
“It’s a lot of heart to it, family-oriented, so [I’m] happy with the way it came out,” Lopez proudly told PEOPLE, before praising his son. “Dominic did a really, really good job. I’m very proud of him.”
Fans can catch “Christmas at the Starlight,” this holiday season on Great American Family, Great American Pure Flix, and GRAM+. The film will be part of the highly-anticipated Great American Christmas series.
