*NSYNC Member Drops Major Reunion Bombshell

After 24 years of wondering whether or not *NSYNC would reunite after taking a temporary hiatus in 2002, fans finally have an answer from former band member Joey Fatone.

The singer and actor dropped a major reunion bombshell while promoting his new Investigation Discovery series, “Boy Band Confidential.” He shared whether or not the group would reunite to perform after releasing new music in 2023.

Will *NSYNC Ever Reunite?

In an interview with Page Six, *NSYNC member Joey Fatone shared whether or not the band would tour or perform together in the near future.

“Probably not, flat out,” the former DWTS competitor admitted. “Literally, we just said, ‘Hey, do we see anything happening in a couple of years of *NSYNC?’ And that was a no.”

While Fatone claimed he, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Kirkpatrick had discussed reuniting in the past, talks never progressed any further. He said they never moved forward into scheduling “a performance of any kind.”

Fatone said, “It was literally the five of us going, ‘how’s everybody doing?’” He added that the band would “probably not” do anything in the “next two to four years. Flat out. Finally got an answer,” he added.

When Was The Last Time *NSYNC Performed Together?

The last time *NSYNC performed as a group was at the 2013 MTV VMAs before Justin Timberlake was presented the channel’s Video Vanguard Award. They sang portions of their hits “Bye Bye Bye,” “Gone,” and “Girlfriend,” marking their first performance as an iconic boy band in over a decade.

Most recently, the group released a collaboration with Justin Timberlake on their first new song in two decades, “Paradise.” The song is included on the entertainer’s 2024 album, Everything I Thought It Was.

Additionally, Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick reunited for Timberlake’s “One Night Only” show in Los Angeles, California, in March 2024 to perform the tune.

One year prior, the group came together to contribute a song for the “Trolls Band Together” film titled Better Place” in September 2023. Timberlake is a voice actor for the “Trolls” film franchise.

Currently, Joey Fatone is promoting his “Boy Band Confidential” docuseries. *NSYNC band member Lance Bass will appear alongside other ’90s hitmakers such as AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, Ashley Parker Angel of O-Town, Brad Fischetti of LFO, and others.

Fatone discussed the project in a press release. “Being in a boy band was one of the greatest experiences of my life. But it also came with challenges we didn’t always understand at the time.”

Today, Justin Timberlake continues to work as a solo star, recording music and taking on acting projects. Joey Fatone recently appeared in the Broadway musical “& Juliet.” JC Chasez works as a producer and songwriter. Chris Kirkpatrick does voice acting, and Lance Bass is active on social media and hosts a podcast.

“Boy Band Confidential” airs on Investigation Discovery on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET.
