Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin spend a lot of time in the spotlight, but they also make time to enjoy married life. In late August 2025, fans spotted the country music star and her husband in the crowd at a concert. While Lambert was clearly enjoying the show and dancing along to the music, McLoughlin looked straight-faced in a fan’s TikTok video. Although some fans in the comments section speculated that McLoughlin might not be having a good time, others believe he’s just showing off his police officer roots.
“He’s in protective mode, protecting our Texas Queen,” one fan wrote of McLoughlin, who appears to be scanning the crowd. “They were laughing and having fun right before this,” another fan reassured other viewers. “He was just in security mode.”

As People reported, he retired from the NYPD in February 2025. He previously took a leave of absence, which began in mid-2019. The Staten Island native even appeared in a special shout-out tweet from the NYPD in 2018, recognizing his work in apprehending criminals.
Instead of remaining on the force, McLoughlin followed Lambert on tour, with People sharing that he had done some light security work at meet and greet events while doing so. “My husband is very open and happy to travel and could be ready to go anywhere in 15 minutes,” the singer said of her husband’s willingness to embrace life on the road and traveling in general. “I love that.”

One of the most noteworthy things fans have noticed about Lambert’s second marriage is how quickly it happened. However, Lambert says that her growing wisdom made it easy to follow her instincts. “I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want,” she said. “So when I know what I do want I snatch it right up.”
