Hallmark star Tyler Hynes has figured out the perfect gift to share with his mom during the holidays. Luckily, it is something he can probably do year after year. The “Three Wisest Men” star talked with People about the bond he has with his mom. What he said will surely have fans gushing.
Tyler Hynes Loves Having His Mom on the Hallmark Cruises
Hynes explained, “My mother’s birthday is the night before Christmas, and so my favorite sort of Christmas present thing is these last two years.”
“My mom is an avid cruise person, she loves going on cruises,” he noted. Betty Hynes joined her son for the Hallmark Christmas Cruise in 2024, and she joined him again in 2025. The Hallmark Christmas Cruise this year featured 17 network stars and 4,000 fans.
She has come to know quite a few other Hallmark stars through her son, and she loves her son’s movies. Joining him on the cruises has been a special gift for her. He has realized it’s a great gift for himself, as well.
“To be in this circumstance with my mom in an activity that she loves more than anything with these movies, which she’s now come to love, with all these people she’s gotten to know, that is, by a mile, the greatest gift I’ve ever had,” he explained.
The Hallmark Star Loves Spoiling His Mom
Hallmark fans know how much Hynes and his mother adore one another. Over the years, fans have come to adore her as well. In May, on Mother’s Day, Hynes shared another gift he created for his mother that had everybody swooning.
When filming “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” he worked with Broadway star Christine Ebersole. In an Instagram post, he explained, he’d hear from his mother daily about Ebersole specifically.
Hynes’ mom told him “she’d watch [Ebersole’s] videos on YouTube daily and cry happy tears from pure admiration.”
During filming, Hynes saw an opportunity he simply couldn’t pass by. He found a moment with Ebersole and fellow co-star Ed Begley, Jr., and recorded her singing a song for his mom.
The Actor Treasures Quality Time With Loved Ones
Hynes told People that he loves spending time on the cruise with his mom, other actors, and staffers. He especially enjoys the quality time he gets with his buddy Andrew Walker, who is married to Hynes’ cousin, Cassandra Troy. Quality time with those he loves is clearly the actor’s love language. He admitted that “selfishly,” he enjoyed that very thing in making “Three Wisest Men” with Walker and Paul Campbell.
“Three Wisest Men,” the third in the “Wise Men” movie series, debuted on Hallmark on November 15. It is also available to watch on Hallmark+. The movie available there is an extended version. It includes lots of additional fun scenes that had to be cut for the broadcast version.

Paul, Andrew, Tyler and Margaret were brilliant in the Wisest Hallmark movies. Absolutely brilliant. The brother relationships are so funny, heart warming and the way they interact with their mother was beautiful. The Wisest movies are my favorites from Hallmark.
