Hallmark just announced that “The Way Home” is canceled, and passionate fans have already started a petition to save it. Thousands of fans have signed the petition and are sharing it with fellow viewers, encouraging them to push for the show’s revival.
Season 4, Premiering This Spring, Will Be the Show’s Last Season
“The Way Home” is returning for season 4 in spring 2026 , People reported. And unfortunately, this season will be its last.
Filming started in August and is already close to wrapping up, People reported.
Samantha DiPippo, SVP of programming at Hallmark Media, told People that in season 4, “the Landry family’s journey comes to a satisfying close, viewers will get the answers they’ve waited for.”
But the season is slightly delayed. Even though it premiered in January, this year fans won’t get to watch until the spring.
The stars had almost completed filming season 4 when the news of the cancelation was announced to cast and crew, according to sources who spoke to EntertainmentNOW confidentially. It’s unclear how all the mysteries will be resolved or how much time writers had to plan a conclusion.
A Petition for a Season 5 Renewal Already Has Thousands of Signatures
Despite the news just breaking, fans have alreayd started a petition for the show to return. As of the time of this article’s publication, the petition had more than 2,000 signatures and was growing fast.
Francesca Anna Pedler, who started the petition about a week ago after hearing rumors of an impending cancelation, wrote on Change.org: “Recently, an unofficial but credible report has surfaced suggesting that Hallmark may end The Way Home after Season 4. While this has not been confirmed, the thought alone is enough to move us(Ponderers/Way Homies) into action, because something this meaningful, this vulnerable, this beautifully human, deserves to continue.”
On a Facebook fan group for The Way Home with more than 40,000 members, one viewer expressed concern that the show won’t wrap up properly.
“I wonder if they’ll get to do their intended ending though. I wouldn’t think so if they outlined five seasons but I guess we might find out somehow,” they wrote.
Another person agreed and wrote, “This is the last season!? I thought they had a 5 year plan!?”
Before the cancelation was announced, Hallmark had inadverdently already soft-launched the cancelation in email replies to concerned fans. A screenshot of the email (which EntertainmentNOW confirmed was legitimate) shows Hallmark writing, in part, that “every mystery will be resolved in this final season” and the story will be “completed.” The email notes that “the chapter will conclude the tale of the pond, the farm, and the Landry family’s extraordinary journey.”

Just as we endeavored to inform people, but unfortunately, no one would listen. And certain individuals (🙄) took credit that was not theirs to take. And now, those same individuals are acknowledging what they were told weeks ago. Please ensure that you sign the petition!!!
The show is dead per the show runners and Netflix turned them down it would take 100k signatures to even turn Hallmarks head on this. Personally season 3’a writing was so bad that I am fine with this decision. Maybe if a known liar would not have been the one running around saying they were cancelled some more people would have listened. The largest group would not even entertain it because of what Francesca did to the admin of that group, she was not having it and the TomKats have no reason to give a damn anymore. Bottom line they could not sell advertising to cover the costs and it is a business.

This is devastating in so many ways to so many fans…Im still I’m shock that Hallmark would do this with only a 5th season left as a possibility.

I am grateful that they had the courage to let everyone know this early and that they are going to finish with all the questions being answered…not sure how they can do that in 10 episodes to fit everything in This show has been Epic and the actors stellar quality acting and performing. I hope they will rise to we ven bigger opportunities in their careers. They have touched so many lives. In these very dark days this show was a bright light and gave us all something to look forward to and to ponder from one episode to the next. I thank you for that and the opportunity to go on this incredible journey.

This used to be my favorite show on TV… but it upset thousands of fans when they wrote off a most beloved character (Thomas) and the best of love stories and instead kept pushing a stale and unhealthy(!) obsession story… the writers knew what their fans wanted (most passionate and dedicated ones really) and either hinted or straight out said they didn’t care what the fans liked/preferred or even felt… I feel like this is Karma honestly…. 🤷♀️
Thomas was never a beloved character he was just a temporary character! This show is amazing and we don’t need Thomas to keep it amazing!

THE WAY HOME is such a Heart Warming Show, Enjoyed by Many, Many People. I’m tired of Shows coming off Hallmark, like the GOOD WITCH. Leave these Shows alone. This was great season 1 and in my opinion should have wrapped up in season 2; this lasted way too long. I stopped before 2 was over.

Should’ve canceled the krakaw one. I won’t watch anything with her in it anymore her acting is so bad, not to mention the horrible haircut! The new Christmas in the Clouds is so lame. Tyler deserves better.

After getting hooked on The Way Home, and watching season 1 and season two, I had to pay to subscribe to Hallmark+ in order to view Season 3. Then they cancel the series. It’s obvious to me that Dish Network, Amazon Prime, and Hallmark are all conspiring together to get their customers to purchase yet more channels. Providing great entertainment and listening to customer feedback appears to be of no concern to these corporate money mongers.
