Hallmark’s Jonathan Bennett Is Excited to Return to the World of Soap Operas
Shortly after Deadline announced that Bennett was joining “General Hospital,” the “Three Groomsmen” star told People he didn’t hesitate to say yes to the offer.
As fans may remember, this will not be Bennett’s first venture into the world of soap operas. Early in his career, he played JR Chandler on “All My Children.”
Bennett told People, “I started my career on soaps, and when the opportunity to go and play a really fun character on ‘General Hospital’ came up, it felt like a no-brainer.”
He continued, “I learned how to act on daytime television when I was 19 years old. Now I’m coming back, but I have a few more tools in my tool belt, so this should be fun!”
Bennett Is Causing a Star With His ‘General Hospital’ News
The first episodes incorporating Bennett’s character will air in May, and the actor is seemingly already having a blast on the “General Hospital” set. After the big announcement, “General Hospital” shared a photo of Bennett on their social media pages.
“He’s already tired of us telling him his hair looks sexy pushed back,” the show teased. The caption of the social media posts continued, “Welcome to the family, @jonathanbennett!”

“Baked With Love: Holiday” star Tamera Mowry-Housley added, “Can’t wait to see you this summer.”
Sharon Lawrence, who starred in Hallmark’s “Grand Ole Opry Christmas,” posted a gif of Bennett from the iconic movie “Mean Girls,” where he played Aaron Samuels. She added, “Look at this face!!! Still captivating.”
Lawerence played Bennett’s mother in Hallmark’s “The Christmas House,” which aired in 2020 and 2021. Clearly, the two have remained quite fond of one another.
“I’m so excited!! Jonathan Bennett my absolute favorite. I hope he’s still going to be at hallmark,” a fan gushed.
Luckily for fans, Bennett replied specifically to that poster. “I am don’t worry,” confirming he’s not leaving Hallmark.
