Soap hunk and Hallmark fan favorite Jonathan Bennett has revealed that something will be different when his Food Network show, “Halloween Wars,” premieres on Sunday, September 13 at 9/8c. The “General Hospital” star shared that he switched up his look for the reality TV show, and one of his Hallmark buddies had fun with the news.
Jonathan Bennett’s ‘Glow Up’ Has Hallmark’s Robert Buckley Roasting Him
Taking to Instagram, Bennett revealed that the suit he wore during “Halloween Wars” last year didn’t get the best reviews from fans. Bennett posted a video on the show’s set, wearing the suit, with comments roasting the look flashing across the screen.
The “General Hospital” hunk kicked the camera to show off his new look for the upcoming season. Gone is the suit that got him roasted; instead, Bennett is sporting a leather jacket, t-shirt, and matching jeans.
“Roasted so hard I had to get a new outfit,” was written across the footage unveiling Bennett’s new look, along with the premiere date for “Halloween Wars.” The caption on the Instagram share read, “Halloween Wars is gonna look a little different this Sunday #halloweenWars @foodnetwork”
Bennett looked fabulous in the video, but that didn’t stop some of those who know him best from poking fun at him. The actor’s “The Christmas House” co-star Robert Buckley showed up in the comments to have some fun at Bennett’s expense.
“It’s giving “recently divorced dad is ready to get back out there,” wrote the “Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story” hunk, and that wasn’t all he had to say. Buckley also commented, “The coolest substitute teacher in junior high” and “The ultimate TJ Maxx glowup.”
Tyler Hynes got in on the action, but instead of using words, the “I’ll Be Seeing You” star just left a pumpkin and crown emojis. Bennett’s husband, Jaymes Vaughan, also hopped in the comments to side with those who roasted the suit, saying, “None of these are wrong. Please add additional roasts here ⬇️”.
“@jaymesv bring it on, people. What you got??” Bennett replied to Vaughan.
The soap star didn’t just glow up for his hosting duties on “Halloween Wars.” Bennett has been hitting the gym in preparation for his shirtless scenes on “General Hospital.” It’s all part of being a soap hunk, as his character Joe flirts with romance with Lucas (Van Hansis).
Jonathan Bennett Hosts ‘Halloween Wars’ Season 16
There’s no question that Bennett remains booked and busy. Along with fighting crime in Port Charles on “General Hospital,” the actor has been busy with Hallmark events such as the Live Tour and the upcoming Christmas Experience.
Bennett returns as the host for Season 16 of “Halloween Wars” and his tenth season as host. Fans can expect new challenges and a first-ever “Halloween Wars” cave-off with an all-star cast.
According to Food Network’s press release, the “Back from the Dead” season will feature “returning all-star pumpkin carvers, cake artists and sugar masters hoping to defend their titles while others will be on the hunt for redemption.” The winning team takes home a $30,000 grand prize.
Make sure to tune in for the two-hour “Halloween Wars” premiere on Sunday, September 13, at 9/8c on Food Network.
