Hallmark star Tamera Mowry-Housley has a new show set to debut during the upcoming holiday season. “Baked With Love: Holiday” brings another competition show to the network, and Mowry-Housley recently gave fans some teasers about what they can expect from it.
Tamera Mowry-Housley Loved Watching How the Teams Worked Together
On September 9, TV Insider shared tidbits from Mowry-Housley ahead of the premiere of “Baked With Love: Holiday.” The show will feature 10 teams, who will be competing for a grand prize of $50,000.
The series will have Mowry-Housley challenging the teams of home chefs to take their own family recipes and incorporate fresh holiday twists. The judges include Vaughn Vreeland and Anna Haugh in addition to Mowry-Housley.
She told TV Insider that she loves to bake, and considers desserts like apple pie, sweet potato pie, and peach cobbler to be her favorites. As the media outlet noted, she previously published a book titled “You Should Sit Down for This: A Memoir About Life, Wine, and Cookies,” so hosting a cooking-related reality television show is certainly in her wheelhouse.
Mowry-Housley explained that she felt “inspired” by the home bakers brought in for the competition. She added that the 10 teams competing include a variety of types of pairings. Some are romantic couples, while others include a father and son along with a mother and daughter.
“It was awesome to witness how they all worked together. You can definitely see so much love between the teams,” she noted.
‘Baked With Love: Holiday’ Focuses on ‘Kind’ Feedback From the Judges
Hallmark fans should not expect to see comments from the judges like what Gordon Ramsay might dish out. Mowry-Housley said the judges were “just lovely,” in addition to being “Very precise, detailed, honest, constructive, but kind.” She added they were also “hilarious.”
In some cooking reality television shows, an early favorite dominates throughout the full season. Mowry-Housley said that with “Baked With Love: Holiday,” that isn’t the case. The challenges the pairs face are difficult from start to finish, and the battle for the final prize remains competitive to the end.
The recipes and final dishes were quite impressive, the Hallmark star teased. Mowry-Housley joked that she “actually stole an entire recipe of pecan cookies” at one point during filming. “Just kidding. I asked the beautiful bakers and they gave it to me. I can’t wait to bake them,” she added.
As Hallmark shared, “Baked With Love: Holiday” is part of the network’s quest to develop “Reality TV with Heart.” In 2024, Hallmark gave fans both “Celebrations With Lacey Chabert” and “Finding Mr. Christmas” with Jonathan Bennett. Both of those shows will return for their second seasons, and Nikki DeLoach will lead another new series, “Armed to Build.”
Bennett will do double-duty for Hallmark’s “Reality TV With Heart” by also hosting a show titled “Murder Mystery House.” Premiere dates have not been revealed by Hallmark yet, but news on that front should emerge soon.
