Hollywood is in mourning as beloved actor and director Bobby J. Brown, who many remember from the hit HBO series, “The Wire,” has sadly passed away. Brown is also known for roles such as “The Corner” and “We Own This City.” Now, fans are paying tribute to his legacy.
Brown’s daughter told TMZ that the actor passed away on February 25 following a barn fire. She stated that he died as a result of smoke inhalation and that they believe he did not suffer from the burns he sustained in the fire.
Regarding the fire, it reportedly started when the actor entered the barn in order to jump-start a vehicle. He later called for a fire extinguisher, but the barn was already ablaze before anyone else was able to reach it.

Per IMDb, Brown was born in Washington, DC. Before becoming an actor, he took up boxing. Regarding his acting career, his first notable role came on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” where he appeared in three episodes.
After that came his stint on HBO’s “The Wire” in 2002. Notably, he played an uncredited role in the first season but later portrayed Officer Bobby Brown. Some of his other roles include “Nocturnal Agony,” “Veep,” and “From Within.” Brown was also set to appear in a mini-series, “The Sessions,” as Mr. Fouchet. IMDb notes that this would have been a pilot, so it’s unclear if it will air.
