Andy Cohen confronted Lisa Rinna about her admission that she burned his book, “The Daddy Diaries,” after she discovered that he included personal text messages she sent to him in one section.
During Rinna’s February 2026 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen noted that the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” complained about him in her new book, ”You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.”
“You write in the book about … my publishing a couple of text messages that really pissed you off,” Cohen said to Rinna. Text messages from you that I put in my book ‘Daddy Diaries’ pissed you off so much that you burned my book in your fireplace.”
Cohen apologized for publishing the texts, adding, “I had all these reasons for doing it, and when I really thought about it, I was like, ‘Oh wait, I gotta apologize.’ So, I’m sorry.”
Rinna noted that Cohen apologized to her previously, and the two shared a laugh over her burning his book. “You are so extra that you burned the freaking book,” Cohen added, before asking the burning question: “Did it burn easily when you put it in the fireplace?”
“It did,” Rinna confirmed during the playful exchange. “And it was so beautiful to watch your book go up in flames, Andy. It really, it’s an honor that I would burn your book.”
Lisa Rinna Said Andy Cohen Gave Her a Heads-Up
After Rinna’s stunning exit from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in 2023, Cohen shared information with fans in his book “The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up.” In one chapter, the Bravo host claimed that Rinna texted him in the middle of the night to say she was quitting the show, and that he agreed that it was the right decision. He then shared a text in which Rinna seemingly changed her mind, asking him “if there was a path forward” to continue on the Bravo reality show.
“I think [Lisa] should go on pause, but absolutely come back. Feels like she has a toxic relationship with the show at this point, and taking a breath away could do everyone good,” Cohen wrote in his book, per Hollywood Life. He later added, “We mutually agreed with Rinna that she should take a break from the show (this is a real pause)”.
In May 2023, a rep for Rinna told E! News that there was “never a discussion” about her going on a “pause.”
In her 2026 book, Rinna noted that Cohen gave her a heads-up that she would be mentioned in his tell-all. “He included my personal text messages,” she wrote. “It was so shady, so Andy, so Bravo, so unnecessary. After I read it, I was so mad, I threw his book in my fireplace and watched it burn gleefully.”
Lisa Rinna Was Happy About an Email that Was Shown on RHOBH
PeacockWhile she was upset about the published text messages, Rinna felt vindicated when Bravo showed her emailed resignation letter, which was dated Sept. 10, 2022, in an RHOBH episode the following season.
During a 2026 appearance on Sirius XM’s “The Julia Cunningham Show,” Rinna said, “They literally showed my email of resignation on the next season. Nobody was trying to get me to stay. No one was like, ‘Oh, no, don’t go.’ They said, ‘Go have a meal and just calm down,’ is basically what they said to me, but nobody fought to have me stay, so I think it was very mutual at the end of the day.”
She expressed frustration with Cohen, adding, “He’s written his own books and done what he’s done. You know, I think he put my personal text messages in his book. … When I read it, and they were personal text messages to basically my boss, and to have them show up in a book, I was like, ‘Wow, wow, wow.’”
“I’m fine with him today,” the former RHOBH star added of her relationship with Cohen.
